Show (Etttsen Lori Hermansen, Rudy Tolbert Reveal Mid-May Wedding Plans Mr. and Mrs. R. Larry Hermansen of American Fork are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter Lori to Rudy J. Tolbert, son of Mr. and Mrs. C. Bernell Tolbert of Salt Lake City. Lori is a graduate of American Fork High School and of LDS seminary. She was a varsity cheerleader for two years. Rudy is a graduate of Cottonwood High School and a graduate of LDS seminary. He was an all-state all-state soccer player for three years. They have chosen May 12 as their wedding date. The Colonial House in Lehi will be the setting. Miner Bruner officiated. A rehearsal dinner was given by Dr. and Mrs. Paul S. Sagers, parents of the bridegroom in their home. On Saturday evening a reception feted been hosted by Mrs. Reed Swenson, Mrs. Nate Sloan and Mrs. Lane Christensen. Following their' marriage the young couple will make their home in Orem. registrar; Mabel McNeill, Mc-Neill, chaplain; Virginia Faddis, lesson leader; Emily Jackman, chorister; Fern Larsen, organist; LaVon Williams, scrap book; Lola Shelby, cheerleader; and Nelva Hansen, luncheon committee chairman. The next meeting will be held on May 15, when the group will travel to Fairfield and Camp Floyd. It will be a potluck affair with the officers furnishing the meat. It is about the Taylor-Sheldon Taylor-Sheldon partnership and also on Thomas Rhoads coming west from Edgar County, Illinois, about the Sheldon Flour Mill on the Cosumnes River which was operating in 1847. The bride was married in a full-length gown fitted in empire-waist style. It featured cap sleeves, scalloped V-neck and a semi-bustle. White chiffon cascaded from the bodice back and the gown was enhanced with petals and alencon lace. She wore a full-length veil of tulle edged in sculptured lace, attached to a bonnet cap trimmed with matching alencon lace. She carried a bouffant nosegay of bridal white roses. Attending the bride was Mrs. Linley Van Smith Jr., Jan Hogen, Pamela Hazard, Sousan Omana, Susan Thornes and Brooke Sagers. Their gowns were pale peach qiana with a scoop neck, bouson bodice and full sleeves. Attendants' flowers were multi-colored fresh bouquets of Sonja roses, white daisies and cream poms with lavendar static and trailing ivy. Best man was Howard Sagers, with Craig Wing, Larry Bywater, Bob Erickson, Steve Smith and Lynn Padan as ushers. Special guests were Mrs. Florence Padan, Portsmouth, Ohio, grandmother of the bride; and Mrs. D.M. Slater and Mrs. Jessie Sagers Lee, both of Salt Lake City, grandmothers of the bridegroom. MAY 4, 1978 Utacen Club Holds Mothers, Daughters Annual Party The Utacen Literary Club met April 26 for their annual Mothers and Daughters Party at the Skyroom in BYU Wilkinson Center. Sixty-five Sixty-five members and guests were present. Each one was presented with a beautiful carnation corsage. A tribute to the daughters was given by Alice ' Slater and a response to the mothers was given by her daughter, June Pulley. The speakpr for the evening was Mirla Greenwood Thayne who read several of her choice poems. A trio of women who accompanied her also sang several lovely songs. Hostesses for the evening were the club presidency, Edna Tit-tensor, Tit-tensor, Phyllis Thorn, Marielle Morelli, Alice Slater and Stella Whitby. The club held their March meeting at the home of Helen Adamson who also gave a thought for the day. Litany was read by Madge Dicker-son. Dicker-son. Guest for this meeting was Rae Jean York, a volunteer worker from the American Cancer Society who told of her experiences with lung cancer. Nineteen members were present. Rodeo Queen Contest With Pleasant Grove's Strawbery Days celebration just under two months away, the Strawberry Days Rodeo Queen will be selected at a contest to be held Saturday, May 11 at 7:30 p.m. at the rodeo arena in Pleasant Grove. All girls 16 years and older are urged to compete for this title. Girls who have held the title in the past are the only ones not eligible. There is no restriction on where a girl lives. Included in the evening's events will be calf riding and roping for young cowboys Parents permission must be obtained on a release for youngsters to ride.
