Liz Monson received a $20 cash award (one of five high school cash awards presented at the festival) for her outstanding piano solo in the musical number "Send In the Clowns." Marty Reimschiissel received a certificate recognizing his outstanding trumpet solos. The Jazz Band attended the Festival April 6, 7 and 8. In addition to their performance at the festival, the students were able to hear concerts by famous jazz groups from around the country. They also were involved in clinics with various well-known jazz performers. The jazz band will enter in competition com-petition again tomorrow when they attend the State Jazz Band competition in Granger. Amblyopia Clinic Today at Forbes Mrs. Beth Manning of American Fork spent the weekend recently in Cedar City, visiting her daughter Loralee and roommates. Loralee is attending Southern Utah State College. Saturday was the annual Mothers-Daughters Mothers-Daughters Day at the college. In charge of the lovely affair was a committee made up of Rita Klees, president; Nanette Forgy, Rhonda Burbank, Cyndi Woodbury and Linda Moorsey. It began with a program for coeds co-eds and their mothers where Emma Lou Thayne, noted author and speaker, gave an excellent talk on the relationships between mothers and their daughters, using many of her own poems.
