Many of us are anxious to rake the leaves from our lawns and shrubbery and burn them. If the leaves are left on the lawns, they will help mulch Forbes PTA Plans Hallowe'en Party Next Thursday All students at Forbes Elementary Ele-mentary School, their brothers and sisters and friends are invited in-vited to come to the big Halloween Hallo-ween Party. The annual event will be held at the school from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Celebrants are invited to come for supper, with hot dogs, hamburgers, ham-burgers, drinks and other goodies good-ies to be on sale at very nominal nomi-nal costs. A variety of games and fun activities has been planned for each of the rooms. The scary spook alley will also be ready for a visit from every little goblin. gob-lin. Candy will be given as game prizes this year, with plenty of toys available at the fish ponds. A new feature of the celebration celebra-tion will be a beauty shop for the girls and a barber shop for the boys. All Forbes students are invited to bring a paper bag to school and color it for a "Trick or Treat" bag. They will carry their party prizes and fish pond items In their own bags. The party is sponsored by the Forbes PTA and the Forbes school staff to keep the children off the street and provide them with a fun-filled evening of Halloween Hal-loween fun. War 1 Vets to Observe Double Anniversary Two anniversaries will be observed ob-served by the 145th Field Artillery Artil-lery World War I Association when the group meets Nov. 9 for the Association's annual reunion, re-union, according to David Scott of Ogden, Association president. First will be the 50th anniversary anniver-sary of the signing of the Armistice Armis-tice Nov. 11, 1918, which ended World War I, and the other is the re-activating of the Association following World War II. The reunion will be held at the Utah National Guard Armory, 1523 Sunnyside Avenue, Salt Lake City, with registration starting at 11 a.m, the annual business meeting at 12 noon, social hour from 12:45 to 1:15 p.m., and the luncheon at 1:15. An effort is being made to reach all remaining veterans of World War I 145th F. Sweet peas thrive the best in cold weather. Shelley School Schedules Hallowe'en Party The Shelley School will hold a Halloween Party on Thursday evening, Oct. 31 at the school. The event is being sponsored by the PTA officers and committee. Mrs. Kenneth Savage, Project Chairman, is in charge. Parents, school students, and all pre-school children in the family are Invited to attend. A supper will be served at 5:30 p.m. with sloppy joes, chill, cold drinks, ice cream, etc. to be sold. Game activities will begin at 6 p.m. with a free comedy film to be run throughout the evening. A Spook Alley, Fish Pond, Bean Bag Throw, Baseball Pitch, Cake Walk and Dart Game will also be part of the fun. A new feature for the party will be a Sketching Artist who will make quick sketches of the children chil-dren in costume.
