They have set the automatic lighting system so it turns on a little after midnight so the hens think morning is Forbes School Parents' Night Held Thursday A large crowd of parents and teachers met together at the Forbes Elementary School last Thursday evening for the annual Back To School Night. Principal Princi-pal Melvin H. Beckstrand welcomed wel-comed the assembly and introduced intro-duced the school s teachers and then presented the PTA officers and chairman for the coming school year: Mrs. LuWayneBar-rington LuWayneBar-rington as President, G. Preston Taylor as First Vice President; Mrs. Brent L, Davis, Secretary. The following are chairmen of their various committees: Mrs. Richard Magleby, Membership; Mrs. Paul Sagers, Publications; Mrs. Marshall J. Webb, Room Mother Representative; Mrs. Virgil Rieske, Publicity and historian; his-torian; Mrs. Max Smith, Health and Mental Health; Mrs. T. Guy Walker, Citizenship; Mrs. Dell Sanders, Project; Mrs. Elmo Murdock, Program; Mrs. Boyd E Adams, Safety; and Mrs. Paul Steele as Faculty Representative. Mr. and Mrs. DeanM. Bateman, Hospitality Chairmen greeted everyone at the doors and presented pre-sented them with a Forbes School Handbook. After the opening exercises, the parents visited their various classes and were greeted at the doors by the Room Mothers for the year. Well, one hen took the hint and laid a full egg, shell and all, inside another egg. The egg was discovered by Alice Broomhead while preparing prepar-ing hpr husbands breakfast. She has been buying eggs from the Carlisle's for years. She said, "I've seen lots of double yolkers but I've never had to break the same egg twice!" Mr. and Mrs. Carlisle have been in the egg business since 1947 and say this bunch of hens is the wildest yet! County Leaders Plan For '68 Industrial Development Fair The 19G8 Industrial Development Develop-ment Conference and Trade Fair, which will be held October 7 through 12, was the principal item on the Utah Valley Industrial Indus-trial Development Association's (UVIDA) agenda at their monthly Board Meeting Tuesday night. In addition to the regular Board members, the mayors and chamber cham-ber presidents were special guests invited to participate in finalizing plans for this year's Industrial Development Conference Confer-ence and Trade Fair. The theme of this year's activities ac-tivities is ' Utah Valley , the PlaceFor Man, Industry and Movement Forward." In keeping with this theme, this year's events will be extended to six days. Exhibits will display products pro-ducts manufactured in Utah County. Coun-ty. As a special feature of the Trade Fair there will be five variety shows daily. Participating Participat-ing in these talent shows will be high school students from each high school in the Valley. Thursday noon Senator Moss will address a luncheon meeting on on the subject of of the Air Cargo Industry Industrial Development.' At the Awards Banquet, which is scheduled for Friday night, October 11, special awards will be made to three industries home-based home-based in Utah Valley. One is called call-ed the Little Acron Award given to a firm at least one year old, but not more than two. The second sec-ond award is called the Sapling. It is given to a firm home-based in Utah Valley who has been in business at least two years, but no more than ten years. The last award is the Great Oak Award. The featured speaker will be Warren Johnston, Vice President of I-T-E Imperial. Mr. Johnston Johns-ton will speak to the subject of "Utah Valley's Potential for Internal In-ternal Growth.'
