King Recite Wedding Promises in Temple Rites One of the loveliest wedding receptions of the summer season was that which fcored George Gull King and his bride, the former for-mer Sharon McRae Friday evening, eve-ning, August 30. The reception was held at the Utah State Training Train-ing School LDS Branch church and was given by Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Jo-seph P. McRae of American Fork, the parents of the bride. The couple was married in the Salt Lake Temple earlier in the day. Elder Wallace Galley officiated. of-ficiated. The bridal party was compli mented at a wedding brunch at Oak Crest Inn, Spanish Fork Canyon, for which the groom's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank G. King, of Spanish Fork were the hosts. The lovely bride was gowned in rose point lace combined with nightlite satin, of A line style. Open at the front, the scalloped lace skirt revealed the underskirt under-skirt of satin, swept to a chapel length train. Scalloped lace at the neckline, a front bow to em phasize the empire waistline and long pointed sleeves completed the gown's design. The shoulder length veil of sheer Illusion was caught to a petaled headpiece of lace and seed pearls. A single large white orchid was circled with pink rose buds and steph anotis to form the bouquet. Adding tc the beauty of the pic ture were the attendants, Mrs. Gary (Sheila) Loveridge, Mrs. David (Noreen) Cowden, Mrs Charles (Bennle) Brady and Carolyn Car-olyn King. Melba Ann King was the flower girl. Carolyn and Melba are sisters of the groom The bridal attendants wore floor length gowns of shrimp pink shantungette, fashioned with daisy lace over bodices, empire waistlines with moss green velvet ribbon belts caught to pink bows at the front. Each held a bouquet bou-quet of white pom pom mums nested in pink ribbon. Konaia King was best man for his brother and Douglas Day Den served as groomsman. Stephen Hicks ushered. The two mothers were attired in matching long gowns of moss green crepe and wore pink carna tion corsages. For the reception the receiving line formed in front of tall pink and white fluted panels alternating alternat-ing with gold lighted grill panels, decorated at the top with Fench sheer swags. Columns at each side held bouquets of shaded pink glads. A white French cart held the four tiered wedding cake. Pink g'iamelias and wedding bells dec orated the cake and at the base pink lights were reflected through a lacy panel. Revolving cupids holding bouquets decorated the gift area and foyer. Small cupid statuettes circled with white mums centered the serving tab les. Assisting in making the oc casion memorable for the happy couple were Miss Janet Lee Greene, who presided at the guest register table; Mr. and Mrs. Boyd E. Durrant, uncle and aunt of the bride, and the groom's grandparents, grand-parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Gull, who greeted the guests; Mrs. Paul E. Durrant and Mrs. Norman Barnes, hostesses for the serving. serv-ing. Serving were Marilyn Will- lams, Carolyn Ludlow, Sally Crowell and Judy Peterson. Mrs. Walter E. Durrant andMrs. Herman Her-man Anderson, had charge of the gifts and the gift bearers, Walter Walt-er Durrant, Jr., Kevin King and Kerry Durrant. Provo is the couple's home. Mr. King, a junior at Brigham Young University will resume his studies, following thirty months spent in the French Mission. The new Mrs. King is working towards her master's degree and will also attend the university. A pre-nuptial shower was given in honor of the bride by her cousin, Miss Artalee Toth at her home. Lund of Salt Lake City, Utah. Friday, September 13, is the day chosen by the young couple to exchange nuptial promises in the Salt Lake Temple. They will be honored at a wedding wed-ding reception the following evening, even-ing, Saturday Sept. 14, in the Am. Fork Ninth-Twelfth Ward Cultural Cul-tural Hall from 7:30 to 10 p.m. All friends and relatives are invited to greet them at this time. Tree, son of Mr. and Mrs. Don Tree of American Fork. The young couple will exchange ber 20, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Later the same evening they will be honored at an open house reception to be held at the home of the groom's parents, 580 East 640 North, American Fork. was active in musical circles and well known in the area as a member of a Ladies Trio with her sisters. She is a graduate grad-uate and is also presently employed em-ployed as instructor at the Continental Con-tinental College of Reauty at Murray. The prospective groom is a graduate of Highland HighSchool. He has fulfilled an LDS mission to Western Canada and is presently pre-sently attending the University of Utah in the field of business The newlyweds will further be honored at an open house reception recep-tion to be held in Salt Lake City at the home of the groom's parents, par-ents, 202G Millicent Drive (10th South) on Saturday, September 21 from 7:30 to 10 p.m. Following their marriage they will make their home in Murray. The bride attended high school at Davis High School in Kays-ville, Kays-ville, Utah. The family then moved to Glenwood Springs, Colorado where she finished junior and senior high school. They moved to Provo in Sept. 1963 and she attended Mary s College of Beauty. She is presently pre-sently employed at Mary's Beauty Salon in American Fork where she has been for the past four years. She is fond of hunting, water skiing and snow skiing. The groom attended Lehi High School and two years at the Brig-ham Brig-ham Young University. He worked for Wathen's Upholstery for 10 years and began his own business in July of 1967. Won the State Motorcycle Championship two years. He is a ski patrolman at Timp Haven and a member of the National Ski Patrol System. Utah. She attended the Brigham Young University for three years studying registered nursing. She has trained at the Utah Valley Hospital in Provo and has also been employed as a Nurses Aid at the Las Vegas Hospital. The prospective groom is a graduate of the American Fork High School. He was photographer photo-grapher for the year book and school paper. He has been in the U.S.S. Parcutin (AE-18). Following their marriage the newlyweds will make their home in Concord, California. They wore contrasting dresses of pale green and light blue crepe and carried bouquets of carnations and rosebuds. Mrs. Foulger, mother of the bride wore a blue crepe dress and the groom's mother, Mrs. Anderson chose a green crepe. They wore identical corsages of rosebuds and carnations. Fork was named as a second place winner in the Light Verse category last week in the League Lea-gue of Utah Writers poetry contest con-test at Ogden. She was among several Utah writers who received cash awards, certificates, diamonds and gold quill pins which were presented Sunday. Sue Abbott, guest poet, discussed dis-cussed the place of poetry in the world today at the final meeting meet-ing of the three day Writer's Roundup. The Blue Quill Chapter of Ogden was host to the conference con-ference held at the Ramada Inn. Winners were chosen in six categories of poetry writing. They sat at small serving serv-ing tables centered with lovely garden roses. The four-tier wedding wed-ding cake, which was also cut and served to the guests, was Iced beautifully in a delicate filigree. It featured small real rosebuds, swans and wedding bells. Throughout the entertaining area there were large arrangements arrange-ments of glads in the fall colors of dark red, bronze, oranges and golds. Greenery was used through out in swags around the tables that held the gifts, behind the bridal party and between white columns that also held arrangements arrange-ments of glads. John and Heidi Foulger greeted greet-ed guests and Miss Elayne Jensen Jen-sen was at the guest book. In charge of the buffet food was Melba Sasso and in charge of the gifts was Miss Barbara Lind. For her going away costume the bride wore a green paisley with orange accessories.
