Pony League Teams Post Wins Pony League action tor last week saw the American Fork teams tor the most part turn in league wins. - Two separate contests on June fourth saw the Athletics swamp the Lehi team 14 to 4. Tim Hall and Bill Allen worked on the mound, with Allen blasting two roundtrippers, Bob Baldwin also blasted a homerun as the A. F. team won going away American Forks Orioles trounced the P.G. Giants 13 to 3, with Blake Buhler and Bryan Miller pitching, and getting good fielding support from their team mates. June sixth saw the Athletics continue their torrid hitting as they clubbed the Alpine team 15 to 1. June 6th in a later game had the Orioles dowing the Ameri can Fork Reds 9-2. Steve Hardman copped hitting honors with two homeruns to back starter Ronnie Sorenson's pitching for the Hornets.' June 7. in a very good ball game the Darts 4 edged the Bees 2. The Darts Jody Jones pitched and blasted a homer, with team mate Doug Doyle also pitching. Rvan Smith and Brad Robinson shared duties on the mound for the Bees. National League National League results for June 3. Mark Steele pitched the Dodgers past the Braves 7 to 5. Kevin Carlson hurled good ball for the Braves. June 4 saw David DeNumbrum and Kim McDonald crack home-runs home-runs as the Cards won 5 to 2 over the Giants. Randy Rhodes pitched for the Cards. Cole Christiansen went the distance for the Giants pitching. June 6th saw the Giants belt the ball all over the field as they won 11-4 over the Braves. Tommy Greenwood pitched tor the winners, and Guy Hampton started for the Braves. June 7th, had the Dodgers claiming the league lead with a hard won 5 to 4 win over the Cards in an excellent game. Bruce Chlpman and Tim Nelson pitched for the Dodgers, and Dave DeNumbrum tor the Cards. American League American League contests were, Indians 5 as Hal Bennett pitched a strong game for the Indians. The Sox team scored only once, with pitcher Gary Pierce clouting a homerun. The Tigers with Craig Gardner and Merrill Roberts pitching shutout the Yanks 3-0, as Rick Street hurled the route tor the Yanks. Friday in a doubleheader the first game was won 7-5 by the Indians as Travis Smith crashed the games only homerun to support sup-port Dick Greens' pitching tor the Indians. Ty Brown pitched tor the Yanks. Second game results saw everything turn up roses tor the Tigers as they bombed the Sox 25-7 in one of the highest scores in any League. John Sagers Receives Eagle Scout Award John Sagers, 15, son of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Sagers, American Ameri-can Fork was recently presented his Eagle Scout Award. He is a member of Troop 51, sponsored by the Provo Community Com-munity Church. He has served as a patrol leader, assistant patrol leader, librarian and instructor in-structor in his troop, with G. L. Hartvigsen as scoutmaster. John enjoys football, skiing, hiking and golf and was a member of the relay track team that took first in its division at the B.Y.U. Invitational tract meet. He is an active member of St. Mary's Episcopel Church and is a member of the American Fork Marching Band. John is a member of the student council of his school, where he is an honor student.
