Fork Precinct are currently engaged en-gaged in the Neighbor-to-Neigh- bor Fund Drive, to raise money for the 1968 election campaign. District representatives will be calling at the homes of district residents this weekend to give them an opportunity to contribute financial support to the Republican Republi-can Party and to acquaint voters with the registration and primary election dates. Registration will be held for new voters and voters who are not registered on August 6, 10, and 27, with the Primary election elec-tion scheduled for Sept. 10. The Republican County Convention will be held Saturday, June 29, at 7:30 p.m., with all interested Republicans cordially invited to attend. Only duly elected delegates del-egates will have voting privi-ledges, privi-ledges, however. The Neighbor-to-Neighbor Fund Drive is carried out by Republican volunteers who will be calling on their neighbors to ask their financial support and to acquaint them with the importance im-portance of supporting the Republican Re-publican philosophy of govern- Am. Legion Tells Of Vets' Services Veterans are you aware of services that are available to you and your family that the American Legion can help you obtain? George Hatch, Commander of American Legion Post 49, American Amer-ican Fork; and Dennis Finch, Post 19, Commander, Lehi, listed some of these today. They stressed the services are available to all veterans whether they belong to the American Legion Le-gion or not. Services noted were hospitalization hospital-ization at the Veterans Hospital when needed, and ambulance use after clearance from the Veteran's Vet-eran's Hospital. Markers are also provided for the graves of deceased veterans upon application by his family. Commander Finch noted there are four types of markers avail- able including white marble, granite, or bronze or copper shields. Included on the marker are the veterans name, brance of service, rank, date of birth and death. There is no charge for these Commander Finch said, and the markers are set in place by members of the Legion Post. Families can also receive a $250 burial allowance from the American Legion as well as an allowance from Social Security, it was noted. Benefits, including schooling to age 21, are also available for dependent children of a deceased veteran, Commander Hatch said, I "It's easier to follow-the leader, than to lead-the-fol- lowers." Directing the Utah County drive will be Fred Wright, County Chairman of the Republican Party; Michael Bromley, Chairman Chair-man of the American Fork Republican Re-publican Precinct; and the respective re-spective Voting District Chairmen. Chair-men. Of the funds collected, one-half one-half will remain in the county to assist with the campaign costs of local candidates, and the remaining re-maining one-half to be sent to the state, which also shares in the national election campaign expenses. This drive gives each voter an opportunity to contribute to tne campaign funds of their party, assisting in enabling candidates to get their political views and platforms before the voting public. Republicans and Independents are invited to join in the Neigh bor-to-Neighbor Fund Drive and provide a broad financial base for the campaign expenses which face the candidates in the up comine general election. District Neighbor-to-Neighbor workers are asked to complete their calls as soon as possible and return collection envelopes to their District chairman or treasurer.
