Smith of American Fork with one of the five models she entered In final competitions just concluded in St. Louis "here she won position on the USA Team for the 1968 Haiiuressing "Olympics." The USA Team will compete with teams from more than thirty other nations in Vienna, Austria, next September. The USA Team is sponsored by the National Hairdressers and Cosmetologists Cosmetolo-gists Association, the national society of the beauty profession in the United States. City Cleanup Day In Alpine Is Huge Success Mayor Van E. Burgess proclaimed pro-claimed Mav 6 through 11 as "Clean-Up, Fix-Up, Paint-Up" week, with Saturday as City Clean-Up Day, and it s a success! suc-cess! On Friday, the Alpine Elementary Elemen-tary students canvassed the streets of the city gathering up all litter and debris. Ten trucks were used and some dumped three times. After the students had finished fin-ished their work the Lions rewarded re-warded them with snow cones. The fire siren rang Saturday morning at 9:00 Inviting everyone every-one to the City Hall where city clean up was on its way. Different Dif-ferent organizations and individuals indivi-duals worked throughout town. The Cub Scouts planted over 100 shrubs at the cemetery. Lawns were mowed, grass hauled, new lawn planted, and-all city property pro-perty cleaned. Over 150 people were working at the City Hall at Legion Meeting Next Monday The American Legion Auxiliary Auxil-iary Post 49 will hold their May meeting on Monday evening, May 20, according to Mrs. Henry Llewelyn, auxiliary president. ' Special guests will include Girl Staters, Mrs. Llewelyn said. All members are urged tc be in attendance at the meeting wfiieh will begin at 8 p.m. in the American Amer-ican Legion Hall. one time. After the day's work everyone that had participated was invited to a weiner roast furnished by the city and sponsored by the Lions Club.
