They visited with friends there, Mr. and Mrs. Elmo Young. (Former residents of Alpine.) While there they toured San Francisco area for two days with the Youngs, went back to Santa Maria, then to Slmi . (just outside of Los Angeles) to visit with LaDell and June Wild and their family, also former residents of Al pint. The Smiths reported that they had'a very enjoyable trip. 7 ' . A surprise birthday party and going away party was held for .limmv r.aiewa Rnn nf Mr: and Mrs. Stanley Galekta. Tuesday. Jimmy is now 19 and will soon be a member of the United States Armed Services. A lovely cake was made for Jimmy and many friends and relatives were there. Last Wednesday night, Phyllis Ingram, Yvonne Strong, and Peg gy Londow went to Salt Lake City, and stayed there until Friday. They sane with the All-State Chorus for the UEA convention. Saturday night both wards of Alpine held a Deer Hunters Ball s p o n s o r e d by the Mutual Mar rieds. Everyone danced to the music of the Howard Nelson Or chestra. (Howard Adamson is a , member of this orchestra). A' light supper was served and the Cultural Hall was decorated beautifully with autumn leaves, woodland creatures, etc. " t77.v '':;.-;.': A club party was held at the home of Mr. andMrs. Jim Hol- ley's Friday evening. They played games and enjoyed dinner. Co- hostesses were Mrs. Kent Hanson Han-son and Mrs. Kenneth Walker. Mrs. Doa Shepherd was ad mitted to the American Fork Hos pltal on October 11. ., . - All of Alpine's 4-H members should remember to attend Award Presentation which will be held tonight (Oct. 20) at 7:30 p.m. at the American Fork High School's Little Theatre. Your parents if possible should accompany you. Presentation will be made of completion awards; certificates, and county and state awards.
