I New Ski Lift Being Built At Timp Haven ; A new 5450 foot double chair : lift, the longest in the state, is now under construction at Timpj Haven, the picturesque winter j - resort up the north fork of Provo ; .Canyon. ; Paul Stewart, operator of the j winter sports area, said it is , planned to have the lift com- pleted within the next 60 days in plenty of time for the ski season. The lift will have a capacity , of 1200 skiers per hour and will have a vertical rise of 1460 feet. By comparison," Stewart , said, 'the old lift had a capacity of not more than 300 persons an hour." Ethel Mecham Named School Lunch Supervisor Mrs. Ethel Warnick Mecham Is the new supervisor of Alpine School District's 26 school lunch units. Mrs. Mecham replaces Mrs. Mary R. Camenish whose retirement became effective in July, a post she filled for 23 years. According to Mrs. Mecham each of the district's school lunch units was in readiness for the new school .year, which began Monday. There are 26 managers and 120 workers employed throughout the district. Few changes are noted. Union school has been closed and Ina Buck ner manager of the Union unit has been transferred toHillcrest school. Violet Blackett, manager at Hillcrest has been transferred to the new Cherry Hill school. Mrs. Mecham comes to her new appointment well qualified to su pervise a program which calls for a budget of over $607,000. She has a background of leadership lead-ership and 20 years of experience exper-ience in the school lunch program. pro-gram. Of the 20 years, tour were spent as a worker, 13 as a manager man-ager of the Harrington, Frobes and Greenwood Schools in American Ameri-can Fork and two years in the school lunch training program for the state.
