All-Star Bowling Championship To Be Sept. 22-23 Utah bowlers have until midnight mid-night Sunday, Sept. 18 Just a few days to enter the battle" for the state's most ocveted ten-pin honors, the All-Star championships, according to J. Mervin Redden, Springville. president off the? Utah State Bowling Proprietors Assn.' Redden said regional prelim inaries In the Utah meet, sponsored spon-sored by the USSBPA, will be held Sept. 22-23 at 16 bowling centers throughout the state. Semi-finals will be held Sept. 29-30 at the Rancho Lanes in Salt Lake City, while the match game finals will be held In Mid- vale at Holler's Town & Coun try Lanes, Oct. 6-7. As in the past, the tourna ment will be an eliminations for the Bowling Proprietors Assoc iation of America All-Star finals fi-nals at Kansas City, Mo., next Jan. 16-26, with the Utah men's champion and runnerup and the women's champion to be entered in the finals by the j USBPA. All expenses will be paid for the trio. Last year the USBPA sent Steve Buell and Bill Buckingham, Bucking-ham, men's champion and runnerup, run-nerup, and Vera Mallory, women's wom-en's champion, to , the finals at Miami Beach, Fla. All but Mrs. Mallory, ' ' who now resides In California, will be back for another an-other crack at the titles. North regional play for the women will be at Logan Bowling Bowl-ing Center, Ogden Bowling Center Cen-ter and Paramount Bowl, Ogden, Og-den, and for the' men at Logan Lanes and Ogden's Hill Top and Rainbow Lanes.. Central and regional play will be at Bon-wood Bon-wood Bowl, Fairmont Bowl and Pal-o-Mar Lanes for the men and Bountiful Bowl, Maltaln Lanes and Tooele Bowl for the men. South play will be at Dixie Dix-ie Bowl In St. George for the women and Jack and Jill, American Am-erican Fork; Regal, Provo, and Bonnie Lanes, Helper, for the men. Bridlettes Win at The State Fair ' Bridlettes, ladles riding club of American Fork, came home with honors the past weekend from the Utah Stater Western Riding Clubs competition that was held in conjunction with the Utah State Fair. Their winnings were: First Place Parade Class C, Second Place Drills Class C, with all members riding. Third Place Stock Horse, Carol Hunter riding..-. . ' These lady riders are really equestrians in their own rights. They are a riding. club to be proud of. Their competition at the State show was with some of the best riding clubs In the State of Utah. These ladles go out. and compete with the best, both the men and the women.
