Industry, without a sewer is doomed, this will directly or indirectly affect all of us. From the standpoint of health it is a must, already , the ground, we are told, has reached a saturation point, which is affecting the wells in the- southern part of our city. The convenience of a sewer system would alone be worth the cost to each of us. The worry of a filled cesspool or septic tank would be a thing of the past. A community without a sewer system is as antiquoted as a home without a bathroom. Let s all eo to the polls Dec. 28 and vote yes on this very important issue. Mrs. C. R. Anderson President Arlitra Guild With the rapid growth of our community in past few years, it has come to the point where a sewer system is prac tically a necessity, and would be another step to making American Fork a more modern and up-to-date city, it will surely be a trend toward progress. Mrs. Alex Karren President of American Fork Federated Womens Clubs I am in favor of a sewer system because: 1. I think it is necessary for the town's growth. When we stop growing we stagnate. 2. I think it is necessary for a town the size American is becoming, to have a sewer system to safeguard the health of our community. 3. Although the initial cost seems high, I think in the long run it would pay dividends. With these thoughts in mind I feel we should look to the future needs of our city and get behind the efforts of our city officials. Leona A. Grant President Literary League American Fork, Utah December 20, 1948 Deer Mayor Greenwood; I would like to take this opportunity to express my hearty approval of . the proposed American Fork Sewer System. . - I, personally, cannot think of any pther civic improvement improve-ment we could make which will so favorably affect the health of so many people. Our children. will certainly profit as present sewage disposal unit in our schools, our homes and our public buildings are not as sanitary as they should be, Not only the present but future generations will profit from the proposed system. From a monetary standpoint the valuation of our prop erty would certainly increase with the addition of Sewer facilities. .For a city the size of American Fork and one with such fine prospects for further expansion I for one feel it most necessary and beneficial to install the new sewer system in American Fork. Sincerely, Mrs. M. J. Pritchett A ... American Fork P.-T. A. Pres. American Fork, Utah December 17, 1948 Dear Mayor Greenwood; The proposed new sewage system is rapidly becoming a necessity here in American Fork. Our industrial growth is threatened along with the health of our population. If there were no advantages other than-those I!ve mentioned I believe that every citizen should give our city officials their whole hearted support on the project These are my own views but I am expressing them in behalf of the "Junior" Arlitra Literary Club.
