They came from St. George to American Ameri-can Fork. Mr. and Mrs. Verne Iverson who really have a family to write home about. They moved to American Fork September 7 last year and resided in Columbia Village until August when they moved into their new home at 434 Thornwood Drive. Both Mr. and Mrs. Iverson are descendants of early Utah plo- Mr. Iverson has been employed at the steel plant but at present jand who is very Interested is working at Pasco, Washington. Their eldest son, Shyrl, is a Seaman 2c In the United States navy. He tooic nts ooot camp SAYS- MM If our friends in Washington would get busy and pass a bill that would freeze in stock piles, the non-ferrous metals on hand when the war ends, it would surely help make jobs for returning re-turning Utah soldiers. H would be a good investment for the Government too and it would be a safeguard against acts of aggression in the future." Lloyd Ray, whom all the boys call "Pete", is a senior in the high school and this year Is going go-ing In for football and band. He plays the clarinet. Loyal is in the seventh grade and we may hear something from him in thVhoys glee club. Devon, Orlin and Mitchell are in the fifth, third and second grades in the Harrltlgton school. The only daughter In this family fam-ily with six boys is Rose, who is in her last year of Junior high In homemaking. , Mr. Iverson spends JuTlelsure time hunting and fishing and Mrs. Iverson's hobby is crocheting. crochet-ing. She really goes in for such elaborate things as bedspreads and banquet cloths. Since moving mov-ing Into the Fourth ward she has been asked to teach in the Primary Pri-mary Association. The other members of the family fam-ily is "Mischief", a dog they have had five years. DEPARTING COUPLE HONORED Turkey growers of American Fork and Lehi met at the home of Mr. and Mrs. George E. Ricks in Lehi Wednesday night in a farewell party for the couple who are leaving soon to make their home In Wilton, Iowa. Mr. Ricks has been a representative represen-tative of the Salisbury Laboratories Labora-tories and has given invaluable aid to the turkey men during the many years he has lived in the district. He Is now past 83 years of age but Is still able to drive his car. He Is returning to his old home where his children reside. re-side. ' Mr. and Mrs. Ricks were presented pre-sented with a handsome satin down quilt as a token of friendship. friend-ship. Wedding MILLS-JONES In a quiet home wedding Miss Elizabeth Mills, became the bride of Albert Edward Jones of Lehi at the home of the bride's parents, par-ents, Mr. and Mrs. John Mills, Friday morning at 11 o'clock, the ceremony being performed by Bishop Stewart A. Durrant. Following the ceremony a wedding wed-ding breakfast was served. A bowl of pink and white glads centered the table where covers were laid for 26 members of the family and close friends. The bride was lovely in white satin with a bouquet formed of a single orchid and white gladioli. gladi-oli. She -was attended by Miss Elizabeth Mootz of Helper who was attired in pink taffeta. John Mills Jr. acted as best man. In the evening Mr. and Mrs. Mills honored the newlyweds with a reception in the Harrington Harring-ton recreation rooms. A program was enjoyed with musical numbers given by Mrs. Minnie I. Hodapp, Leo T. Hansen, Joim Mills, Kenneth Mills, Reed Gordon, and readings by Mrs. Reed Gordon, Mrs. Mary E. Abel and Mrs. Bert Timpson. James Prestwich of Moroni acted as master of ceremonies. Miss Blanche Larsen had charge of the gift rooms. Assisting with the serving were Miss Viola Griffith, Grif-fith, Miss Connie Ashby, Mrs. William Mills and Mrs. John Mills Jr. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry White of Provo.
