J. Ovard was the occasion Tuesday afternoon for a Jolly get-together of her mother and sisters at her home. They came with picnic lunch and spent the afternoon in social chat. In the party were Mrs. Eliza Searle, Mrs. Leslie Parker. Mrs. Max Parker, Park-er, and Mrs. Frank Chelley. 'Games were played, a program was enjoyed and a treat of ice cream ' sandwiches wa.s given. To each child was Riven also candy favors. The Beethoven club of the high school musical organization, met Thursday night at the home of Mrs. La Von Bennett with Miss Margaret Mar-garet Priday as assisting hostess. Two musical numbers and the lesson les-son were given. Twenty-two members mem-bers and K. J. Bird, advisor, were present. Light refreshments were served. Friends here of Master Oeorge L. Adams, who was removed ten days ago from the local hospital to the j Children's Hospital in Salt Lake will be glad to learn that he continues j to Improve. George L. was In the hospital here for a month during which time he was a very sick child. At the Children's hospital in Salt Lake he was very happy to'lnow that he will not miss out on his school work as some of this is taken care of there. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. George Adams. Mrs. Dave Cahn was a guest at a recital given last Sunday afternoon at the Ladies Literary Club, in Salt Lake, by Albert Shepherd, violinist and Grant Johannesen, pianist. Mr. Johannesen Is a cousin of Mrs. Cahn. The recital lasted two hours. In the evening Mr. and Mrs. Cahn were guests at a going-away party given at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Rolapp on Arlington Drive for Dr. and Mrs. James Wiley who are leaving for Brazil where Dr. Wiley will do governmental research work. Henry Thornton, noted pianist of Salt Lake, entertained with piano numbers. The guest list included beside the honor guests and Mr. Thornton, Mrs. Munler, Harry Thompson, Dr. and Mrs. Flannigan. IN. Miss Edith Chadwick left Thursday Thurs-day night for Texas where her marriage mar-riage to Jack Smith, stationed at Fort Worth, will take place. Mr. Smith is an aviation cadet in the air corps. Miss Chadwick Is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. J. Chadwick of this city, and Mr. Smith the son of Mr. and Mrs. James Smith of Alpine. Both are graduates of the Ameri can Fork high school. Parker and Mr. and Mrs. ' George S. Hunter, The reception ; which was lovely In every detail was held in the Third ward amuse-1 amuse-1 inent hall last Friday night. A color scheme of pink and white j was employed in the decorations. The entrance hall, where the bridal party stood, was lighted with attractive at-tractive floor lamps and decorated with ferns and cut flowers. Back of , the bridal party stood potted palms. I Ita the receiving line were Mr. and Mrs. Ellis M. Parker, Mr. and Mrs. i George S. Hunter, Stanley Hunter, a brother of the groom as best man, the groom and his bride, Mrs. Helen Adamson Searle, matron of honor, Miss Ann Parker and Miss Naomi Brown of Salt Lake, Miss Lucile Gray of Pleasant Grove, Miss Dorothy Doro-thy Peck of this city who were bridesmaids, and the tiny Bonnie Lou Parker and Myrna Kay Searle, flower girls. The bride was beautifully attired in a model of white brocaded taffeta taf-feta trimmed with. , lace and. net. She carried a bouquet of red rose buds with tiny white flowers and shower streamers of 6a tin in which small rose buds were caught. Mrs. Helen Searle, matron of honor, was dressed In blue taffeta; Miss -Ann"' Parkers gown was. 61 Jade green net over taffeta; Miss Naomi Brown wore yelloow brocaded j taffeta. Miss Lucile Gray pink georgette and Miss Dorothy Peck yellow georgette. Each of , the attendants at-tendants wore a corsage of white gardenias. The little flower girls were lovely pictures In twin frocks of peach taffeta with sweet-heart neck lines. In the blonde curls of Bonnie Lou and the auburn curls of Myrna Kay nestled green satin ribbon bows matohlng the- streamers of ribbon fastened to the rosettes on their dresses. Each carried a peach and silver basket filled with pink and white sweet peas. Mrs. Parker, mother of the bride was attired in black crepe, and Mrs. Hunter, mother of the groom was dressed in burgundy velvet. Each wore a corsage of pink rosebuds rose-buds and white sweet peas. When the guests had assembled the bridal party entered the hall with a wedding march In the following fol-lowing order: Myrna Kay Searle and Blaine Shelley; Bonnie Lou Parker and Grant Parker; the bride and groom; Stanley. Hunter and Mrs. Helen Searle, best man and matron ol honor; and the brides maids with their escorts: Miss Ann and Leon Scott; Naomi Brown and Douglas Nash, Lucile Gray and Bill Watkins, Dorothy Peck and Harry Davis; Mr. and Mrs. Ellis M. Centering the serving room was a lace cloth covered table bearing as the centerpiece a large wedding cake beautifully decorated in pink and white with silver leaves and with a miniature bride and groom on top. In charge of the serving were Mr. and Mrs. Leslie Searle, Leslie Parker and Leon Scott. The Misses Clea Searle, Mary Peck, Joan Boley, Kathleen Devey and Erlene Van Wagoner served. In the gift room Mrs. Leslie Searle, Mrs. Frank G. Shelley and Miss Helen Parker were in charge. At the door to receive the guests were Mrs, Leon. Scott, nd Miss Aliee Parker. Miss Clea Searle and Miss Mary Peck received the gifts. During the evening in which dancing occupied the major part Of the time a short program was given with Leo B. .Nelson as . master . .of ceremonies.
