The home of Mrs. Wagstaff was ap- nronrlatelv decorated. Teachers and partners were In Hallowe'en costume. Mrs. Rose Young went to Salt Lake City on Monday, to be present at the marriage of a cousin. Miss Georgia Hendricksen, of Richmond. Mr. and Mrs. Dwight Bateman of Los Angeles have moved to Pleasant Grove. Mrs. Homer Royle, who has been m at the home of her mother, Mrs. George Peay, was taken to the L. D. 8. hospital, Wednesday, where she will receive medical treatment. ' Mrs. Ludle Hillman was hostess at a "pot-luck" supper given by her Gleaner Girls class of the First ward, Tuesday evening. The program which .followed the luncheon included talks on "Making "Mak-ing of Scrapbooks," given by Mrs. Geneve Dal ton of the stake board, The History of the Gleaner Or ganization.'' by Miss Roxie West; "The Gleaner Sheaf," by Mrs. Luetic Lu-etic Hillman, and "The Story of Ruth" by Miss Beth White. Miss Drudlla Loader sang a vocal solo. Twenty-two girls were present Mrs. Delilah Fugal and Mrs. Lar- ena Johnson of the Third ward Relief society presidency, entertained enter-tained at a quilting party Friday afternoon. The quilt was made for the Relief society bazaar which win be held early in November. Supper was served to the following guests: Mrs. Matilda Christiansen, Mrs. Margaret Holdaway, Mrs. Lar- ena Nlelson, Mrs. Margaret Barney, Bar-ney, Mrs. Rose Nlelson, Mrs. Eva Walker and Mrs. Jennie Fugal. A Hallowe'en motif was carried out In decorations and luncheon when Mrs. Alta Noble entertained members of the Modemette club at her home in Orem Wednesday afternoon. aft-ernoon. Junior girls. o Manila Clubs Plan Exercises The Manila 4-H clubs will hold their achievement exercises Sunday Sun-day evening in the ward chapel, it was announced by Mrs. Merrill N. Warnlck, supervisor. Awards for outstanding members and pins or certificates for all members mem-bers wil be presented by the Bank er's" Association. David Sharp of Logan, state club leader, will be the speaker. An entertaining program Is being be-ing arranged by Mr. and Mrs. Merrill Mer-rill N. Warnlck, club supervisors, and by club leaders, Helen Warnlck, War-nlck, Leah Wadley and Delia Rad-man. Rad-man. o Surprise Alarm At Central School Brings Results Six of the members of the Pleasant Pleas-ant Grove fire department led by Fire Chief Josiah Kemp paid a surprise visit to the Central school Thursday afternoon of last week. They quietly entered the school building and turned in the alarm without letting even Principal Ray Merrill know of their intention. Chief Kemp was gratified that in one. minute and fifteen seconds the school house was cleared of chil dren. Both teachers and pupils were calm and conducted their c cape in orderly fashion. The firemen then inspected the school's fire fighting equipment, and heating plant, and were pleased to find such adequate equipment and such satisfactory conditions in the boiler rooms. "Very commendable housekeeping and safety conditions" was Chief Kemp's report Following the drill and Inspec tion, Mr. Kemp addressed the as sembled students and faculty on the suttject of fire prevention.
