Harrington and Mrs. Paul Wilcox and family of Salt Lake City, were Labor day visitors at the home of their mother, Mrs. W. A. Robinson, and sister. Miss, Bessie Robinson. Mr. and Mrs. Will Hansen and son. Cecil Ray, left Sunday for a ten day visit to California. Mr. and Mrs. Elwin Wride enter talned at a birthday dinner Sunday In honor of the 75th birthday of Mr. I Wride's mother, Mrs. Phoebe Wride of Provo. The table was attractively decorated with m birthday cake centerpiece, cent-erpiece, with 79 candles, and sweet pea favors at each place. Bertha, of Olendale, California, are visiting at the home of Mr. Aydelotte's father, P. Aydelotte. Mrs. Thomas Leonard of San Francisco, California, is visiting at the home of her niece, Mrs. Jarvis Aydelotte, of this city. Miss Ora Jean Chlpman left Wed nesday for California where she will teach school during the coming winter. Wendell Noyes accompanied Miss Chlpman to Los Angeles where he will remain Indefinitely. Word has been received from La- Von Earl that he is getting along fine In his work in the German mission mis-sion field. He is now laboring with James Martin, son of Dr. Thomas Martin of Provo, and is located In the Ootha branch of the Erfurt district The neighborly neighbors spent last Friday afternoon at the home of Mrs. Tom Binns on Highland. Mrs. Lot Robinson was voted Queen of the day and crowned with sunflow ers. Late in tne aay a picnic luncn was served on the lawn. There were twenty-six present. After spending the past week visiting relatives and friends In American Fork and Salt Lake, Mr. and Mrs. D. Richard Douglas and son returned to their home in Logan. Mrs. Douglas was formerly Miss Wll- ma Stice of this city. Miss Nina Halllday left Monday for Salt Lake City to attend the teachers institute for all Salt Lake teachers. Miss Halllday has been selected to teach in the music de partment at the Forrest school and win commence her work this week. Mr. and Mrs. Jay Beck left Sun day for St. George to make their home, where Mr. Beck will work as a teacher in the Dixie Junior college. Mr. and Mrs. Ray Ellison motored to St. George with Mr. and Mrs. Beck and visited two days at Cedar City on on (heir way home. Members of the L. D. S. Seminary will furnish the programs in the First and Second wards at the regu lar Sunday evening service Sunday The Bishops of these two wards in vite all ward members to be in at tendance at these meetings and especially those with children enter ing high school this year. The American Fork and the Adams camps of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers will meet Thursday, Sep tember 12th, and will entertain all pioneers of American Fork. The program will be held in the taber nacle commencing at 2 p. m. special effort Is being made to con tact all of the Pioneers and In vite them to tXdx entertainment All members of the two camps are urged to be present Mr. and Mrs. George Hunter and I Mrs. Charles Peck motored to Salt Lake City Wednesday, to visit with Mr. Peck, who is confined at the Veterans hospital. Miss Marine Briggs, accompanied by Mr. Fred Whiting of Provo, at tended the wedding and reception of Miss Maurine Brown of Salt Lake and Mr. Elbert Startup of Provo, given last Friday evening. The re ceptlon was given by the parents of the bride, Dr. and Mrs. F. W. Brown, and was held at the Hyrum Jensen home in Greystone Gardens, Salt Lake City. Miss Brown is a cousin of Mr. Whiting. The Ladles Literary club were guests at the home of Mrs. Hans Christensen yesterday. Mrs. Erken-brack Erken-brack of Provo was in attendance and gave a book review, musical numbers were given by Mrs. Edith O. Young and duet numbers by Margaret Mar-garet Dunkley and Beth Ellison. The hostess served dainty refreshments. In honor of her birthday Tuesday, relatives and friends of Miss Gokla Cunningham gathered at her home and had a very enjoyable evening of social chat. Refreshments were serv ed to eighteen. Mr. and Mrs. Warren Anderson and son, Harold, and Miss Edith Thornton left yesterday for San Francisco to visit with Mrs. Anderson's Ander-son's sister, Mrs. Frank Greenwood, and family. Y. U. gave their annual garden party in honor of the N. L. U. club mem bers and guests Thursday afternoon at the home of Mrs. J. Will Knight of Provo. In the receiving line were: Mrs. Knight, Miss Ellen Binns, Mrs. Helen Dlxon,'Mlss Shirley Redd and Miss Jean Summers. The guests were received in the house, and later, went into the garden where they were served at small tables centered with bowls of nasturtiums.
