Where Irrigation water stands in roadside ponds for a wee! or more at a time, a generation of mosquitoes may be developed, causing caus-ing considerable annoyance to people peo-ple living neear such breeding places. It Is suggested that where fish or valuable plants are not present In the water, and the use of oil Is not otherwise objectionable, that used crank case oil be poured on such ponds to help In abating the mo squito nuisance m inoaqultoHweed- tog ponds. o r Hie University Invites You TO CONSIDER ALL THE (ADVANTAGES OF AT-TENDING AT-TENDING THE STATE'S LARGEST INSTITUTION OF HIGHER LEARNING. Of this amount IJ1I pounds was graded as fine wool with an average shrinkage of 04.4 per cent. One half blood wool amounted to lSS pounds with a shrinkage of 03 J per cent. When the 513 pounds of three eighth wool was scoured it showed a shrinkage of 50.7 per cent and the sample of 154 pounds of one-quarter blood wool had an average shrinkage of 644 per cent. Pour growers with a predomln-ancs predomln-ancs of fine wool were under S3 per cent shrinkage. The difference in shrinkage between grades conforms within one per cent of the findings of the National Wool Jutanufacturera association for Utah. The project work has been carried on by the experiment station, the extension service and woolen mills of Utah in cooperation with growers, The purpose of the project, as out lined by Professor Esplin, la to determine de-termine the amount of shrinkage by grades of wool produced In Utah; to supply Information to wool grow-era grow-era concerning their grades and shrinkages as a guide to their sheep breeding program; to offer guidance in herd management so that wool ahrinkages might be kept as low as possible.
