On Utah County Farms With Extension Agents The last few years the Utah County Sugar Beet tour ha proved yrvry popular with farmer and agricultural specialists alike. Over 400 people were nerved dinner last year at Kprlngvllle. This year the tour Is echeduled for August 16 under the direction of Utah County Sugar Beet asso-clation, asso-clation, Utah Idaho Sugar Beet association. U. A. C. Extension Service Ser-vice and the Utah County Farm Bureau. Specialists from these organizations or-ganizations and the U. 8. D. A. and II. Y. U. will be In attendance. Mr. J. W. Glllman, president of the Htate beet growers association will also be preseat. The trip will probably start In Lhl and will be completed In the south end of the county with luncheon lunch-eon to be held In Spanish Fork under und-er the direction of Ralph D. Morgan Mor-gan of the general committee. The arrangements committee will meet Tuesday, August J, to complete com-plete the Itenerary, schedule the beat fields to be visited and make arrangements for the program Including In-cluding the luncheon and beet topping top-ping demonstration at Spanish Fork. "FARM BUREAU DAY" Utah County Farm Bureau Day will be held at the Saratoga Resort on August 20 and will undoubtedly be one of the outstanding days of the season. The Executive Committee Com-mittee have met several times and details are being attended to. Some interesting events of the day will be: Sports, single and double, horseshoe pitching contests, luncheon, lunch-eon, program, championship base-bull base-bull contest, tug-o-war, free watermelon water-melon bust, a big entertainment in the evening and the grand ball at night. All farmers and their families are expected to attend. President Jesse Mail of Payson is In general charge and is In constant touch with his committee to see that all details are followed up. Make early preparations prepara-tions to spend the day "at Saratoga. on activities at Camp Tlmpanogos; talks on the Scout Laws and musical music-al numbers by the Scouts. The stake award to Scouts who have passed the Court of Honor will be made In this ward at this time. CHEVALIER'S SONGS FIT INTO HIS LATEST PICTURE Jeanette MacDonald teft the musical mus-ical comedy stage two years ago to make her film debut opposite Maurice Maur-ice Chavaller In "The Love Parade" and later gained screen stardom in such pictures as "The Vagabond King.' "Monte Carlo' and "Let's Go Native." The singing actress halted her screen career several months ago to go to Europe on a concert tour. She was forced to postpone an engagement engage-ment In Berlin when Paramount offered her the featured feminine roles In Chavaller's next two pictures. pic-tures. She plans to return to Europe to finish her concert engagements after the completion of her second picture with Chevalier. It has been suggested that people who have not the bottles and other puraphanella for canning, dry the fruits and vegetable such as peas, corn, etc. From a standpoint of health the dried products measure up higher than those pre-cooked with sugar and other preservatives. It would seem that with the abundance abun-dance of garden stuff and fruit on all sides none should want. The problem of securing employment employ-ment for some was taken up. The possibility of securing some of the Relief money from th government was ulso considered, and a committee com-mittee consisting of Rlshop Joseph H. Storrs, Junius West and Fred Bradley was appointed to go Into the matter. Another committee consisting of II. E. McNiel. Jesse M. Walker and Bishop T. A. Greenwood Green-wood was appointed to investigate the likelihood of procuring more flour being distributed through the Red Cross for the government.
