All friends and relatives are invited to Edna Beck celebrates her 80th birthday at open house The family of Edna Peterson Beck of American Fork is pleased to announce her 80th birthday. She was honored at a surprise open house on Nov. 23 where she had a wonderful time visiting with relatives and friends. Edna was born Dec. 10, 1910, to Francis and Mary Peterson in Eureka. She is the second of seven children. Edna lived in Eureka until the age of 12 when she moved to American Fork where she has resided re-sided for the past 68 years. Paul and Marjorie Peterson presented a delightful program. Paul played the guitar and sang three songs, The Green, Green Grass of Home," "The Kentucky Song" and an old favorite, "Old Man River." Marjorie gave a brief and descriptive de-scriptive review of her new book "Our Roots Grow Deep," being printed at the present time. The book, which took her years to collect the information, reveals some of the interesting history of Cedar Fort and the Cedar Valley. Christmas Party Saturday On Saturday, Dec. 8, the Seniors Sen-iors of the American Fork area will be hosted at the Annual Christmas Dinner and Program at the American Ameri-can Fork High School. In order to attend, one must have an American Fork Senior Citizen membership card which can be purchased ahead of time or will be available at the door. The package pack-age deal will be $13 for singles or $16 for doubles. This entitles you take the American Fork Citizen newspaper for one year at one half price, your membership card which is $3 per person and of course the delicious dinner, which will be served at noon and a nice entertaining' program following the dinner. Senior Center to Close for Two Weeks The American Fork Senior Center Cen-ter will close for two weeks in December, from Monday, Dec. 17, until Wednesday, Jan. 2, 1991. This gives our volunteers a vacation. va-cation. They are an important part of our Senior program and are faithful faith-ful and diligent in their efforts.
