ILA NIPPER, new owner and manager of Shir Is Klip and Kurl, schedules an appointment New Owner At Shirl's Klip and Kurl The new owner at Shirl's Klip and Kurl in American Fork comes into the shop with both experience and friendliness. Ila Nipper has worked in the beauty shop business for 23 years, has owned her own shop in Salt Lake City and also in the state of Washington. "I worked in Pleasant Grove for five years, then here (Shirl's) for the past two years," she said. She recently bought the shop and is presently looking for some beauticians to work for her. "We've always specialized in our haircuts," she explained, "and felt they were the best quality." She added that they are as good or better than cuts costing $14 and Shirl's only charges $6 for a haircut. The shop also offers the basics of a regular beauty salon such as permanents, sets, blow drys and manicures. "And we have a special on permanents throughout the month of June," Ila added. Many people have said that Shirl's is one of the nicest looking shops in the area, Ila said. "There's been a lot put into the interior design and it's got a comfortable and pleasant atmosphere," she said. The new owner, who has four children and 12 grandchildren, would like to encourage the people of this area to drop in anytime, for a haircut or just a visit.
