She just loved to buy yarn and turn il into Ix-au-tiful afghans to give to her kids or little grand kids lo keep them snugly and w arm She made table clot lis and beautiful doilies and then give them away to loved ones. She was so proud of her t ib-lxn.s ib-lxn.s she won at the County hairs. She loved canning season to come around each year and fill all the jars with delicious food for the winter lime. Mom was a great cook! One Hung that you could say about Mom is thai no one ever left her table hungry! She loved to lislen to country music and watch old movies. She loved to Uiwl on a bowling league in her earlier years with her friends. She loved lo go South in the winter time and hang out with I he snow birds at Overton liea h. She was always down for a game of canasta or cribbage. She loved fishing, camping, and deer hunting, and a great shot we might add. But most of all. Mom loved her family and the family get -togethers. She loved her kids, grand-kids and great -grand kids more than life itself! She was full of fun, loved lo laugh, tell jokes and make the little kids laugh and be happy. Oh, how she loved living in spite of all the suffering and pain she had to endure in this life time. What an example of enduring to the end she set for her family and anyone that knew her. We will miss you terribly, Mom! Dear Mom - Grandma, God knew you were suffering that the hills were hard to climb, So he gently closed your eyes and whispered "Peace Be Thine", In tears we watched you sinking, we watched you fade away. Our hearts were nearly broken, you fought so hard to stay. It broke our hearts to see you go, but you did not go alone, For part of us went with you, the day God called you home. Our family would like to give thanks to all of Mom's doctors and nurses that have taken care of her over the past years, they truly became her close friends. A special thanks goes out to the doctors and staff members at American Fork Hospital. Your love, kindness and care you have shown to Mom and our family during this difficult time will always al-ways be remembered. Aleene is survived by her husband, Newell Turner of Lehi, her daughters, Rebecca (Frank) Severson of Charleston, Utah, Toni (Cap) Martin of Lehi, Utah, Pamela (Stan) Thompson of I. una, New Mexico, her sons, Lloyd (Linda Carabin) Holmes of Auburn, Washington, Elden (Shauna Young) Holmes of Mid-vale, Mid-vale, Utah, and her step daughters Judy (Robert) OLsen of Saratoga Springs, Utah and Barbara (Jim) Beagley of Salt Lake City, Utah and her life long friend Mary Rafiner Thompson who was like a sister to her. She had 37 grandchildren, grand-children, 74 great-grandchildren and one great -great -grandchild expected in May of 2008. She was preceeded in death by her former husband, Bally, her mother and father, two sisters, Nettie Pitt and Etta Mar MacGuire, and one brother, Grant Gibbons. Funeral services were held Saturday, November 10, 2007 at the Lehi 9th Ward Chapel, 465 E. ,'K) N. at 11:00 a.m. A viewing was held Friday evening from (i:30-8:30 p.m. at Wing Mortuary 1 18 E. Bart was born to (Val) Valdess Sa-bey Sa-bey and F. Jay Manning in Lehi, UT on Feb. 19, 1960. After the divorce of his parents, he was raised by his mother and stepfather, step-father, Keith H. Roberts. He was always told he was very fortunate to have two fathers and a step-mom. step-mom. He married Kelli Atwood on June 30, 2X)7. She was the love of his life along with his 9 yr. old son, Zachary Hunter Manning. They spent many hours hunting, fishing fish-ing and camping. Kelli was the perfect wife for Bart, she enjoyed the same things he did and was with him every step of the way. Bart's school years were spent in Lehi from elementary, Jr. High and High School. He was a gifted student as well as a talent ed-athe-lete. He was Jr. High Student body President, High School Class President, he was made Who's Who of America High School students stu-dents and was chosen by the State of Utah as a nominee for West Point and Air Force Academy, but due to being color blind, could not attend. This appointment was made by Orin Hatch. Bart excelled in sports, he was All-State in football, baseball, and basketball. He went on to play football and baseball in college. He obtained his teaching degree at Utah State in 1985, taught Eng lish and coached in Ogden, Lehi, Spanish Fork, Manila and Monument Monu-ment Valley. Bart was afflicted with an illness later on, but his love for his wife, son and family never took a second seat. Bart will be remembered by all for his ability to do anything and for living liv-ing life to its fullest. His spirit will remain alive in our hearts. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Arthur Sabey, grandparents, Harry (Hud) and Georgia Goates Manning, and Uncle Dean Chilton. He experienced sudden heart failure while riding horses with his best friend. He was born in Camp Kearn, UT to Cyrus Edward and Susanah Gout Brown. He graduated from American Fork High School, obtained a B.S. in Accounting at USU and later served in the Utah National Guard for 6 years. Pete worked for Geneva Steel for several sev-eral years, owned his own crane company and has been employed for the last few years as an ironworker iron-worker in the local 27. Mickey Taylor 1923- 2007 Our beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend passed away on Thursday, November 8, 2007 after a short battle with cancer. Mickey was born to Suzie Florence Wooldridge and Earnest Taylor in Casey County, KY on September Septem-ber 18, 192a He spent his childhood in Danville, KY playing in the rolling roll-ing hills and fields. He moved to Utah in 1941 to help with the building build-ing of the Geneva Steel complex. It was then that he met and fell in love with the woman who would share the rest of his life, Shirley Jean West. Mickey and Shirley were married on November 25, 1942. Mickey joined the Navy shortly after his marriage and served in World War II, earning an honorable honor-able discharge at the wars end. He returned to Utah and took a position at Geneva Steel as a millwright. mill-wright. He worked at Geneva for 36 years until his retirement. The final years of his life were spent with Shirley enjoying retirement at his home in Utah and his winter home in Parker, AZ. Mickey had a wonderful and infectious personality. Everyone was his friend. He enjoyed fishing fish-ing with his wife, children and grandchildren. He loved sports of all kinds and followed his favorite teams passionately. He loved being be-ing in the company of his family and friends. He was always al-ways quick with a hug and a good word. The memories he brought to those he loved will carry forward for-ward forever. Mickey is survived by his loving wife Shirley (Pleasant Grove), his children Linda Millar (American Fork), Darlene (Nile) Bezzant (Pleasant Grove), Susan (Dick) Goetz (Pleasant Grove), Sheila Turner (Jacksonville, FL), Michael (Sandy) Taylor (Roy, UT), Denise Scovel, (California) and 20 grandchildren, grand-children, 54 great-grandchildren and 1 great -great grandchild. Born March 16, 1921 the eleventh elev-enth of twelve children to Walter F. Bowen and Esther Catherine Cath-erine Bowen, in Malad, Idaho. Edna married Glen Thomas Evans in Escondido, California on January 10, 1942. Glen was serving in the U.S. Army during World War II, and went AWOL to marry his sweet heart. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple on March 29, 1955. She was active in the Church of Jesus Christ of Lat-ter-Day Saints. She worked for Alpine School District as Sego Lily Elementary Secretary for 21 years. She loved her family and enjoyed sharing her hand-made Christmas village and Christmas party with all she loved. She made a special village for each of her children and grandchildren. Preceded in death by her parents, husband, son Tommy, brothers; Walt, Clyde, Leo, Fred, and Victor, sisters; Annie, Ruth, Verda, Vilate, and Stella.
