Because of heavy traffic on the two-lane highway, the driver was unable to avoid the collision. The accident is still under investigation. in-vestigation. Alpine Highland CRIMINAL MISCHIEF - A High land resident reported the driver's window on his vehicle had been broken while parked on the street in front of his home. FIRE Police were dispatched to Highland Elementary on a report of a light pole that was blown over and sparking. School officials were notified and the power was shut off to the light. DOMESTIC VIOLENCE - Police were dispatched to a Highland residence on a verbal family argument. argu-ment. Dispatch advised the argument argu-ment was becoming more serious and physical. Upon arrival police discovered an adult male may have damaged a phone in the incident. Charges are being referred to the city attorney. Eagle Mountain CRIMINAL MISCHIEFVANDALISM MISCHIEFVANDAL-ISM Vandals broke into several construction vehicles and used the fire extinguishers to spray fire-retardant foam throughout the vehicles' interiors on March 13. The vehicles are owned by TNT Construction Con-struction and were parked in the gravel pit area. Anyone with information infor-mation about the incident, please call the Sheriff's Office at 789-5551. Orem BURGLAR ARRESTED - Officer Chris Rockwood noticed 38-year-old Gary Cameron standing outside out-side his parent's home at 61 N. 700 West on Sunday morning. Officer . Rockwood knew that Cameron was wanted on felony warrants for drug possession, theft and burglary. Cameron saw the officers driving up and ran into the home to hide and keep from being arrested. Officers Of-ficers went in after him and Cameron Camer-on was apprehended as he crawled out a bedroom window. While inside Gary Cameron's bedroom, the officers noticed several items there that matched the items reported stolen Saturday evening during the burglary of a residence not far from where Cameron Cam-eron was living. The items included memorabilia like a basketball signed by Larry Bird and Magic Johnson, Green Bay Packers and Dallas Cowboys helmets, etc. Cameron was questioned about the stolen items and was booked on charges 6f residential burglary and the warrants. BURGLARY - A rock was thrown through the glass front door of All Tec Auto, a business located at 944 N. State St. Once inside, the thief stole a candy dispenser and the $5 in change left in the open cash register. The burglary happened sometime the night of March 22. WARRANT SERVICE - A man called the police at 7 a.m. the morning morn-ing of March 23 to report that his renter, 23-year-old Jared Diether, to whom the man was renting the shed in his backyard as a bedroom, was yelling curse words at the rising ris-ing sun for no apparent reason. Officers contacted Diether and found that he was wanted on a 55,000 warrant for failing to appear in court. He was arrested without incident and booked into the Utah County jail. The home owner was warned that action would be taken against him if he continued to rent his shed out as a residence. BURGLARY - A 17-year-old Timpview High School student in Provo went into the men's locker room at Timpanogos High School in Orem and stole a cell phone from an unlocked locker. He made several calls with the phone before being tracked down and arrested for burglary inasmuch as he entered en-tered and remained unlawfully in the locker room he wasn't a student stu-dent at the school and had no business busi-ness being there. He was booked into the Slate Canyon Youth Detention Deten-tion facility. VANDALISM - Employees at Baskin Robbins at 210 N. State St. were scooping up ice cream for customers on the night of March 23 at 8:30 p.m. when they were startled star-tled by the sound of BB's hitting the front window. Someone shot the window three times while driving past the business. WARRANT - Officers received a call from an anonymous citizen the evening of March 22, who received a misdialed call from a woman who said she was at JR Mufflers, a business busi-ness in west Orem. The complainant was concerned about the woman who called and told dispatch that the woman sounded in trouble or extremely intoxicated, or both, and asked that an officer go by the business and check on her. Officers found 31 -year-old Debi Lynn Nuttall, of Orem, alone and lying down on the seat of a truck parked next to the closed business. Nuttall was intoxicated intoxi-cated on prescription medication and had a non-bailable DUI warrant for her arrest out of Provo. Nuttall was taken into custody and booked into the Orem holding facility. Pleasant Grove BURGLARY A pocket bicycle valued a $400 and a Sony CD player, play-er, valued at $60, were reported stolen from a garage. The home's residence provided police with surveillance video that has been added to the report. CRIMINAL MISCHIEF - Officers Of-ficers were dispatched to a report of criminal mischief at a Pleasant Grove residence. When officers arrived, ar-rived, they learned that the window damage on the owner's vehicle occurred from the inside of the vehicle. Officers also found that the owner own-er had a valid warrant out for him. The man was arrested and taken to the Pleasant Grove Police Department Depart-ment where he was later released. CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE PROBLEM Officers stopped a white Jeep for failing to yield the right-of-way on a left turn. The driver was arrested for traffic and equipment violations. The passenger passen-ger was identified and arrested on a warrant. The vehicle was inventoried invento-ried and impounded for improper . registration. The driver was released with a citation. The passenger was booked into the Utah County Jail on the warrant. CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE PROBLEM - Officers made a traffic stop on a vehicle for an equipment equip-ment violation that resulted in the arrest ar-rest of a man and woman. The man was issued a citation and released without incident. The woman was transported to the county jail and booked in on charges. Cocaine powder, pow-der, heroin, drug paraphernalia, baking bak-ing soda and aluminum foil, were taken into evidence. TRAFFIC OFFENSE - A traffic stop resulted in two juveniles being arrested for a tobacco violation and possession of marijuana in a drug free zone. CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE PROBLEM - A Ford pickup was stopped for a stop line violation. Three occupants were in the vehicle. vehi-cle. The driver had never obtained a license. The center passenger had a valid warrant for her arrest. The driver and the center passenger passen-ger were arrested. Marijuana was found on the center passenger. The vehicle was impounded. While conducting a vehicle inventory, police found marijuana and drug paraphernalia in the cab of the pickup. The left side passenger had two bags in the bed of the pickup. The bags were inventoried, and two syringes and a digital scale with methamphetamine residue were found in the bags. A stolen wallet wal-let was also found in the bag. The driver and center passenger were released on citations. The other passenger was free to leave at the scene and left, leaving his bags at the scene. VEHICLE BURGLARY - Several items were reported taken from a locked vehicle parked in front of the victims home. The items, valued at $2,000, included a digital camera, cam-era, laptop computer, DVD player, leather purse, wireless headset and phone accessories, and a personal digital assistant. CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE PROBLEM - Police stopped to identify and speak with two men for running across State Street at night. The men were arrested for consumption of alcohol by adult minors. Marijuana was found on one of the men. Both were released from the Pleasant Grove Police station with citations. The marijuana was booked in as evidence. Saratoga Springs STOLEN VEHICLE - Officers stopped to conduct a welfare check when they saw a man sleeping sleep-ing in a vehicle parked on the side of S.R. 68 near mile marker 24 on March 17. The officers did a records re-cords check on the car and discovered discov-ered that it had been stolen in Salt Lake City. They also found stolen property and drug paraphernalia in the car. The man was arrested and booked into Utah County Jail and charged with possession of a stolen vehicle, stolen property and drug paraphernalia. Since he was in possession of stolen credit cards, he has also been charged with fraud. Federal charges for possession of stolen mail are pending. BURGLARIES - Two residential garage burglaries were reported in the Saratoga Hills subdivision on March 22. The garage door opener was stolen from one garage. The code has subsequently been changed. A purse was taken from a car in another garage. Within half an hour of the burglary report, the thieves were already fraudulently using a stolen debit card. The cases are under investigation. The MSA's Shirley Cooper Award is presented annually to the single most outstanding school grades pre-K through college.
