Zenneth grew up in American Fork and after high school joined the U.S. Navy and served in both European and Pacific theaters during dur-ing World War II. Later he worked as a machinist at Geneva Steel Company Com-pany until his retirement. Alta was raised in Alpine and after graduation attended the LDS Business College in Salt Lake City. She worked as a secretary at Geneva Ge-neva Steel Company for four years and then served as a legal secretary to the District Attorney in Provo. They are the parents of eight children: chil-dren: Connie Chamberlain, Logan; Bonnie Armitstead (Lynn), Alpine; Kaye (Paul) Kowallis, Soda Springs. Idaho; Kent (Dianne) Chamberlain, Chamber-lain, The Woodlands, Texas; Dan (Christy) Chamberlain, Star Valley, Wyoming; Chris (Kaye) Chamberlain, Chamber-lain, American Fork; Shannon ( Tod) Balser, Orem; and Rhett (Karen) Chamberlain, Burlington, Kentucky. They also have 39 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. Zenneth and Alta have been active in civic and church duties. Zenneth was an Alpine City Councilman Coun-cilman for 12 years. In 1995 he served as the National Convention Chairman of Submarine Veterans of World War II and hosted the Sub Vet Convention in Salt Lake City. They later served as missionaries in the Philadelphia-Pennsylvania Mission. They will celebrate their anniversary an-niversary by attending the Mount Timpanogos Temple with their family fam-ily where they served previously as ordinance workers. Later they will be honored at a family dinner at Thanksgiving Point. They have 17 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. They have lived in American Fork since lOi. Chris worked for the Utah County Road IX-partment for 30 years and has enjoyed serving serv-ing the community by volunteering with American Fork Fire Department Depart-ment for 41 years. Thora worked for the Alpine School District for 23 years and is well known for her sewing and handiwork abilities. They enjoy being with their children chil-dren and grandchildren.
