If w I : U W Richards 95th (iwcn M. Richards, longtime resident resi-dent of American Fork, turned 95 on July 24. Her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren gathered at a family dinner July 23 in honor of her birthday. Gwen was ljom in Scipio, Utah, to Bruce and Charlotte Irene Robins Mathews. Slie attended schxLs in Millard Gunty and graduated from Snow College with a two-year teaching teach-ing degree, later earning her bachelors bach-elors degree at BYU Owen met her husband, Fred G Richards, in !!).) while he was coaching basketball at Wasatch High and she was teaching third grade in Heber City. After living in Ileas-ant Ileas-ant Grove, Scipio and Delta, they moved to American Fork in 1943, raised their family and taught in local schools. Many American Fork residents resi-dents may rememler Mrs. Richards as their teacher at Harrington or Forbes Elementary. She has many fond memor ies of the children she taught in her 35-year career. (iwen has enjoyed serving in auxiliaries aux-iliaries of tlie Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Slie especially loved serving as Relief Society president presi-dent and as an ordinance worker with her husband in the Provo Temple. Reading, playing the organ, crocheting cro-cheting and spending time with family fam-ily and friends are some of the things that (iwen enjoys most. Her greatest joy is her family. Slie has six children: Carol Nicholes ()gden; Fred (Beverly) Richards, I lighland; John (Gay le) Richards, Salt Lake City; Stephen (Carol), Bluffdale; Rosemary (Brent) Lind, Alpine and Anne (Larry) Bowen, Ilcasant (irove. Her grand-cliildren grand-cliildren (25 living, 3 deceased) and 39 great-grandchildren adore her. As a family we wish to express our love and appreciation for our mother and her remarkable life. Friends and family are invited to a celebration to be held in their honor that evening from H to 10 at the Hullinger home, 9475 N Canyon Heights Dr., Cedar Hills. Idaho. They met at UVSC through a leadership program at the Orem Institute of Religion. Kristen graduated gradu-ated from l-one Peak High School in 2001 and Ryan graduated in 2000 from Minidoka High School He served a two year LDS mission to Rostov Russia, while Kristen was pursuing her career in singing and acting, Ryan is studying finance and marketing. I le is working for a marketing firm called "Fat Bottom Line." Kristen has cut an album and landed her first role in "The Worlds Fastest Indian" with Anthony Hopkins Hop-kins coming out this fall. They are very excited to spend a lifetime together in love and friendship. friend-ship.
