UTA is proposing several service changes designed to improve local and express bus service ,in the Orem and South County areas. A, Public Hearing will be held to discuss the proposal to create a new Express Service and to reallocate specific local services: Utah County: Provo City Library, 550 No. University Ave, in the Young Card Room, Provo, from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., Thursday, 19 May 2005. II. At the hearing, the Utah Transit Authority will provide an opportunity for citizens, private transportation providers, public officials and interested ayencies to comment on the proposed changes. To be included as pari u! the Public Hearing record, all comments must be postmarked or received by UTA no later than five days following the Public Hearing, or May 26, 2005. III. THE FORMAT FOR THE PUBLIC HEARINGS WILL BE AS FOLLOWS: a. Open House to review and discuss proposal with UTA representatives (First 30 minutes) b. Presentation by UTA representative regarding proposal (Immediately following Open House) c. Public comment period (Immediately following presentation) IV. Proposals are as follows: ? UTA proposes to modify Route 803, Spanish Fork Express. This route, currently serves customers from South Utah County with weekday express route bus service from 5:35 a.m. to 6:55 p.m., making two northbound trips in the a.m. and two southbound trips in the p.m.. This route serves the southern end of Utah County and selected express stops north through Lehi, UT to downtown SLC. UTA is proposing to modify the route 803 by discontinuing the southern portion of the route from Spanish Fork to UVSC in Orem. ? UTA proposes to create Route 805, a more direct express service from the southern part of Utah County. Route 805 will provide express service from 5:50 a.m. to 6:45 p.m. with two northbound express buses in the morning and two southbound express buses in the p.m. to serve Payson, Spanish Fork, and Springville; directly to Salt Lake City. ? UTA proposes that the Route 862 Orem East West Shuttle be modified to discontinue service on the southern half of the route between UVSC and the Mt. Timpanogos Transit Center mostly along 800 South. Also, this modification will include expanding service to the Canyon Park Technology Center (formerly the Word Perfect area). Service between Canyon Park and the transit center or the UVSC campus will be 30 minute frequency on weekdays and 45 minute frequency on Saturdays. ? To combine a late night northbound trip of the Route 820 with a late night trip of the Route 822 South County Shuttle into one trip because they are within nine minutes of each other and both have low ridership. ? Discontinuing the Saturday north bound trip of the Route 822 leaving Payson at 9:00 p.m. VII. Relevant information about the proposed changes will be available at the Public Hearing or may be reviewed at the UTA Orem office, 1110 South Geneva Road, until May 26, 2005. The City of Orem, Utah, is opening a 30-day comment period on the 2005-2009 Consolidated Plan as part of the requirements of the Department of Housing and Urban Development Community Development Block Grant (CDBG), HOME Investment Partnership Act (HOME), Emergency Shelter Grant (ESGK and the Housing Opportunities for People with Aids (HOPWA) programs. The Consolidated Plan is an effort to streamline the application, planning, and reporting requirements of the above-listed programs.
