"(History is my best subject in school," Anderson said. The three got involved because their grandfather is a member of the American Legion, and also helped with the vehicles vehi-cles in the parade Saturday. Another educational opportunity was presented present-ed by the Bureau of Reclamation, Central Utah Water 'Conservancy District, and Utah State University Extension Service. Together, they had a pavilion to educate visitors visi-tors on water conservation conserva-tion and usage. There was an art contest for kids to draw ways to save, have fun with and use water, as well as water testing, free hose water meters, videos and a quiz. "We're committed to the idea of education," said Nancy Hardman, conservation coordinator for the CUWCD. "It's the most effective way to reduce water use long term." Summerfest wasn't just about learning though. Besides the educational education-al exhibits, there was also plenty of opportunity to have fun. Over at the chipping course, put together by Cascade golf course, Karen, Trudy and Jenni Bullock were taking a swing at golf. They said they usually go to Summerfest for the fireworks, but wanted to check out some of the other activities going on. Between laughing at shots, Trudy said, "Obviously I've never golfed before." Jenni had only played miniature golf and said the biggest difference as getting used to the clubs. Locals weren't the only ones to attend Summerfest, though. Luke (7 years old), Nikki (5), and Danny (3) Christensen were in town from Wyoming, stopping by the park with their mom and taking time to play on the inflatable slide. With laughs and screams, the three boys would slide down, get back in line and race to the top again for another ride. The Summerfest events were capped off Saturday night with a parade down Center Street, and then concluded with a fireworks fire-works show : r , . i 1 11 - - ; , 1 I v i I 'V ".' r';";"; t-:: VA' ' &sssamsmmmi twsmsw .mi - fill - J.-. i. r W i 4 l-' 'ill-- , t .. . -. . .- .
