Museum of Art asserts that often in life our perspective is somewhat some-what incomplete because we see, as the Biblical reference ref-erence suggests, "through a glass darkly." Discussing this particular exhibition, Aldridge comments that "a good painting must ask provocative questions. These paintings are my attempt to ask: What is it that I find in nature that reminds, that beckons, that seems familiar, that suggests more?" In doing so, Aldridge removes unimportant details and leaves landscapes that are powerful, thought-provoking and familiar to many viewers. This exhibition contains con-tains 18 landscapes that are exhibited in the West Clyde Gallery of the Museum. Upon completion comple-tion of the exhibit, these pieces will travel to Santa Fe, New Mexico for further fur-ther exhibition at the Joyce Robins Gallery. The show will be open until Aug. 22, 203. The Museum is open Tuesday-Saturday, Tuesday-Saturday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and until 9 p.m. on Wednesday. Sunday hours are 3-6 p.m. Closed Mondays and holidays. There is no admission charge. G Is |
