Walker of Cedar Hills, will marry Joseph T. Kunic, son of Ivan and Marilyn Kunic ofLindon, on June 15, 2001 in the Mount Timpanogos Temple. A reception will be held in their honor that evening from 7:00 until 9:00 at Mellor Hidden Meadows, 877 North 100 East, Lehi, Utah. Friends and family are invited. The bride-to-be graduated from Pleasant Grove High School in 1996 and Utah State University in 2000 with a BS in Interior Design De-sign and currently is employed at Evans Furniture and Design. Her fiance graduated from Pleasant Grove High School in 1996 and currently is enrolled at UVSC in International Business. He served an LDS Mission to Moscow, Russia. The couple will make their first home in Pleasant Grove. Christy Teichert to wed Brandon Cummings in temple Christy Lynne Teichert and Brandon O. Cummings have chosen cho-sen Friday, June 15, 2001 to be married in the Manti Temple. A reception will be held in their honor that same evening from 7 to 9 p.m. at the White Willow Reception Re-ception Center in Provo. Christy is the daughter of Burke and Georgia Teichert of Orem, and Brandon is the son of Ross and Terri Cummings of Fillmore, Utah. Christy graduated gradu-ated from Orem High, after which she attended Snow College and spent a summer semester with BYU in the Holy Land. She graduated gradu-ated from BYU in April with a degree in Early Childhood Education. Educa-tion. Brandon is a graduate of Millard High School and served in the Melbourne, Australian Mission. Mis-sion. He has received an associate associ-ate degree in Construction Management Man-agement at UVSC, and will continue con-tinue his studies there again this fall. The couple will make their first home in Provo. AARP and the Pleasant Pleas-ant Grove Jacobs Senior Citizens' Center are again offering the well-known well-known classroom refresher course in defensive driving for drivers over 50. The eight-hour, two-day course will be offered on Tuesday and Wednesday, 17-18 July from 8-12 a.m. at the spacious new Center Cen-ter on Second South just west of the Post Office in Pleasant Grove. Melissa Cobb and Dean R. Dickerson have chosen Thursday, June 14, 2001 to be married in the Jordan River Temple. A reception -Will be held in their honor at the Vermont LDS chapel at 400 North 400 East, Orem from 7 until 9 p.m. Melissa is the daughter of James and Doris Cobb of Coulee Dam, Washington and attended Kicks College and Salt Lake College Col-lege of Medical and Denl al Arts. She is the mother of 4 children. Her fiance is a graduate of BYU and is employed by the Alpine School District. He is on the board of trustees for the SCERA Corporation, Corpo-ration, and he is chairman of this year's Orem Surnmerfest. The couple wiil make their home in Orem. Temple Square Concert Series Saturday. June 16 - Alec Chen's prizes include the Gina Bachauer (1986), Sydney International (1981), and Paloma O'Shea (1982) International Competitions. Among orchestras with'which he has soloed are the Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, St. Louis, Utah, Buffalo, Buf-falo, Atlanta, and Hong Kong Symphonies. His program consists con-sists of the Fantasy in A Major by Schumann, Country Dances by Zemlinsky, and pieces by R. Strauss and Schubert. Tuesday. June 26 - Gail Niwa swept the 1991 Bachauer Competition Compe-tition as gold medalist, audience favorite, and best chamber music artist. She has soloed with many symphonies and chamber orchestras orches-tras and ensembles in prestigious halls of the world. She is noted for her ensemble playing and often appears at the Park City International Interna-tional Music Festival. She will perform sonatas by Beethoven and Rachmaninoff and four mazurkas ma-zurkas by Chopin. Wednesday. June 27 - Besides his 1980 Bachauer gold medal, Duane Hulbert has prizes from the 1982 Leeds Competition, 1984 Paloma O'Shea, and 1985 American Ameri-can Music Competitions. He has performed with many orchestras in America and is a frequent chamber music recitalist. His program pro-gram includes preludes by Busoni Bach, Etude Fantasy by Corigliano, and works of Glazunov. Thursday. June 28 - Xiang-Dong Xiang-Dong Kong, Bachauer's 1988 gold medalist and also winner of the 1886 Tchaikovsky, 1992 Sydney, ' and 1987 Paloma O'Shea Competitions, Compe-titions, enjoys a career that has taken him to more than 30 countries, coun-tries, including Lincoln Center in New York. He has recordings on many major labels. His Salt Lake City concert consists of twelve preludes by Debussy and 24 preludes pre-ludes by Chopin. Friday. June 29 - Arthur Green, a gold medalist in both the Bachauer and William Kapell International In-ternational piano competitions, will perform the complete etudes of Alexander Scriabin, which he has recorded for Supraphon. He has performed with an assortment assort-ment of major orchestras as well as in concert halls of Asia. Green heads the piano department at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. Saturday. June 30 Elizabeth and Raymond Chenault, duo-organists, perform in an unusual genre, for which they have cultivated culti-vated the public taste. They have ' received commissions to play du ets by Arthur Wills and John Rutter, among others, and soon were playing 20 duet recitals a year. They have been featured by the American Guild of Organists and have commission works from many well-known composers.
