UVCC students to work at Disney World Beginning spring quarter 1989, several Utah Valley Community College Col-lege students will have the chance to work in Walt Disney World's Cooperative Education program in Orlando, Fla. The "Co-ops" consist of thirty hours of classroom instruction in subjects sub-jects such as Introduction to Resort Hospitality, Merchandise Management, Manage-ment, and Entertainment Management. Manage-ment. Students also spend a minimum of 30 hours per week working in the food, merchandise, tickets, and transportation areas. "This is an excellent opportunity for students to see what the world of work is all about,'' said Kent Phillips, Supervisor of College Relations for Walt Disney World Co. Walt Disney World employs more than 27,000 people and offers co-op opportunities op-portunities to nearly 2,100 students during the Spring, Summer and Fall months. According to Carl R. Johnson, Cooperative Education Director at UVCC, Walt Disney is just one of several companies that provide work experience for UVCC students. "We place 800 students per year with more than 400 different employees." Many of the students who participate par-ticipate in the Walt Disney work program pro-gram have the opportunity for full-time full-time employment after graduation. "I think it's a marvelous opportunity oppor-tunity for our students to work in their career field for one of the most creative companies in the world." Riverwood announces new Adult Program Director Riverwood Hospital in Provo has announced the appointment of David 0. Weber, L.C.S.W.MFT, as their new Adult Program Director. Weber replaces Byron Edwards who is pursuing a private practice with the Hartford Counseling Center in Provo. Weber is a 1986 graduate of Brigham Young University, where he earned Masters Degrees in both Marriage Mar-riage and Family Therapy and Social Work. Since graduation he has been the chief inpatient therapist of Mountain Moun-tain View Hospital's Psychiatric Unit in Payson, Utah. Weber served his internships with the Division of Family Services, L.D.S. Social Services and with the Comprehensive Clinic at B.Y.U. His duties at Riverwood will allow him to continue his interests with the adult psychiatric population, focusing on such problems as depression, stress, anxiety and individual, group and marriage and family therapy. In addition to his duties at Riverwood, River-wood, Weber is also the Clinical Director of the Riverwood Family Counseling Center in Gunnison, Utah and is in private practice in Spanish Fork. DUP Museum open house set for Dec. 3 Saturday, Dec. 3, is the date set for the open house and rededication of the American Fork Museum and the Daughters of Utah Pioneers. It will be held in the basement of the Senior Citizen building on East Main Street. A program of music, history and a rededicatory prayer will be presented beginning at 1 p.m. at which time there will also be a sale of Christmas knick knacks, rummage and home made bread, candies and other goodies. Following the program an open house will be held from 2 until 4:30 p.m. in the newly decorated and designed Museum, formerly known as the Relic Hall. The public is invited to tour the Museum and enjoy seeing the great variety of artifacts, pictures and furniture fur-niture from Pioneer Days. The museum is just south of the Senior Citizens building. A beautiful queen-size queen-size blue quilt will be raffled off at 4 : 30 and Pioneer refreshments will be given to all visitors.
