Show Orem-Geneva Times Wednesday November 23, 1988 Page 8 V i Cecil Dimlck Cecil Ira Dimick, 78, Orem, died Wednesday, Nov. 16, 1988 at the Utah Valley Regional Medical Center in Provo. He was born Feb. 6, 1910 in Sun-nyside, Sun-nyside, a son of Ira Ephraim and Crystal Elizabeth Miller Dimick. He married MUdred Housely, Oct. 27, 1933 in Salt Lake City. The marriage was later solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple. He grew up in Carbon County, graduating from Carbon High School in Price. He graduated from Brigham Young University with a degree in education. He first taught and was principal prin-cipal at the Byron, Wyo. elementary school. He moved to Paragonah and was principal there. He moved to American Fork to work on the family farm. He began working at Geneva Steel Works as a product inspector and worked until un-til retiring in 1973. He moved to Orem in 1943. He was an active high priest in the LDS Church. He served a mission as a young man to the North Central States (Canada and Minnesota). He had also served as a bishop, Sunday School superintendent, Sunday School teacher, and as an ordinance worker at the Provo Pro-vo Temple. He was an avid reader. Survivors include his wife, his children: Joseph I. and Becky Dimick, Deanna D. and Glen Davis, all of Orem; three grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two sons, Dale DeVon and John Christian. Funeral was Saturday in the Orem Lakeridge 5th LDS Ward Chapel. Burial in the American Fork City Cemetery. Edward Killpack Edward Merrill Killpack, 69, died Wednesday, Nov. 16, 1988 in Provo following a heart attack. L wmmm wmmmm Bertha Turner Kirk Bertha Lucy Turner Kirk, 75, of Orem, died Thursday, Nov. 17, 1988 at Utah Valley Regional Medical Center in Provo. She was born Feb. 8, 1912 in Bluff-dale, Bluff-dale, a daughter of Robert and Lucy Crump Turner. She married Marvin A. Kirk, June 12, 1935 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He died Jan. 29, 1972. She grew up in Bluffdale and she was a graduate of Jordan High School She and her husband owned and operated Kirk's Drive-In for over 20 years. She was a member of the Daughter of Utah Pioneers. She was an active member of the LDS Church serving as ward and Primary chorister, Young Women's president, ward and stake Relief Society Socie-ty president. Junior Sunday School coordinator. coor-dinator. She served a mission to the Florida Tallahassee Mission 1977-78. She has served as an ordinance worker in the Provo Temple since it opened. Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Gail (Barbara) Anderson, Orem; four grandchildren and three greatgrandchildren great-grandchildren and three great-greatgrandchildren; two brothers and two sisters; Robert W. Turner, John W. Turner and Mary Mousley, all of Bluff-dale, Bluff-dale, and Sarah Edna Beckstrand, Sandy. San-dy. She was preceded in death by her son, Boyd M. Kirk. Service was held Monday at the Orem North Stake Center. Burial in Timpanogos Memorial Gardens in Orem. Vivian Moulton Vivian Jensen Moulton, 62, died Monday, Nov. 14, 1988 in Orem of cancer. She was born Dec. 10, 1925 in Driggs, Idaho to John Henry and Alice Steele Jensen. She married mar-ried Harold S. Moulton on Aug. 12, 1953 in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. She received "'her education in ' the Driggs, Idaho schools and attended Farrer Junior High School and B.Y. High School in Provo. She received a degree in business economics from BYU and had also attended at-tended the LDS Business College in Salt Lake City. She had worked for the LDS Church in the tithing department. Following her marriage, she and her husband made their home in Orem, where she has resided since. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and had served as Relief Society secretary, a Primary teacher and as secretary in the MIA. She enjoyed cooking and collecting cook books. She loved music, singing and played the piano. She is survived by her husband Orem; one son and two daughters. Brent H. Elias Ferran Elias J. Ferran, 46, died Monday, Oct. 31, 1988 in Bad Hers feld. West Germany, from injuries related to an - automobile accident. He was born in Tooele to Elias N. -and Theodora Valdez Ferran. He married mar-ried Evelyn Rogers. They were later divorced. He married Faye Aperwhite. He attended St. Francis Catholic School in Provo and later public school in Orem. He was chief warrant officer in the U.S. Army, serving in the 58th Engineer Division. He received numerous awards and held an Associate Degree in Engineering. He served in Korea and two tours of Vietnam. He is survived by his wife, New Orleans, La.; Elias Jr., Erica Marie, Elliot John, all of New Orleans, La.; William Ferran, Daniel Ferran, Orem; Mark Ferran, Salt Lake City; mother. Orem; four brothers and one sister: Gilbert Ferran, Orem; Leo Ferran, Sandy; San-dy; John E. Ferran, Draper; Robert Ferran, Fer-ran, Salt Lake City; Mrs. Allan (Mary Ann) Stubbs, Salem. He was born Jan. 10, 1910 in Beaver, the son of Franklin Dewey and Mary Ann White Farnsworth. He mar-ried mar-ried Lucile Bigelow, Dec. 4, 1931 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He received his early education in Beaver and graduated from Beaver High School. He graduated from Utah State University in forestry. He worked work-ed 14 years with the U.S. Forest Service in the Indian Service. " He served in the Navy during World War II. He was a member of the American Legion of Orem. He worked ; at U.S. Steel for 27 years, retiring in 1972. He was an active member of the Orem Lions Club and served as presi- -dent and deputy district governor. He was a life member of the Elks BPOE 849, and also served as secretary of the Timpanogos Knife and Fork Club for two years. He was an active member of the LDS Church serving as a clerk in the bishopric of the Orem 1 1th Ward and as a financial clerk for the Sharon Stake for 1 six years. He also served a Sharon Stake mission. He has served in many other positions of the church. At the time of 1 his death he was a high priest and home teacher. Survivors include his wife of Orem; one son and one daughter, Donald B. Farnsworth, St. Charles, 111; Mrs. Boyd B. (Mary Ellen) Bushman, Louisville, Texas; 11 grandchildren and 12 greatgrandchildren; great-grandchildren; one sister, Ellen Joseph, Beaver. He was born October 17, 1970 in Provo to John H. and Shanna Simons Wakefield. He received his education in the Orem City schools and graduated grad-uated from Mountain Mount-ain View. High School. He was employed for Utah County this past summer. He . was on the honor roll in his sophomore and junior years at MountainView HighSchool. In 1981 he recieved the Hope of America Award at school. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and was active in Boy Scouts and received many awards in the Scouting program. Many times, the student participated in heated discussions discus-sions about these items. A resolution stating our views will be drawn up and sent to Secretary General Javier Perez de Cuellar, President Reagan, Vice President Bush, and our current U.S. Ambassador to the U.N.
