Ribbon Cutting Held For AT&T Information Systems The new AT&T Information Systems Services Division offices were officially opened at 372 E. 1300 S. in Orem last week. AT&T Information Systems' newest products for both business and residence customers were on display and representatives were providing personal demonstrations of the communications com-munications systems. Featured was the new Merlin Communications System, a micro-processor based system for small business customers with fully programable features that previously were available only on much larger systems. Guests were also able to meet and ask questions of the Systems Technicians Techni-cians that personally handle the maintenance and repair of AT&T Information In-formation Systems equipment for Local Red Cross Needs Health Volunteers Utah County Chapter of American Red Cross has need for volunteers at this time to accomplish accom-plish their goals in health service preparedness in case of disasters and emergencies, according to Kay Downs, Volunteer Coordinator. .Needs inehide: Volunteer registered nurses, L.P.N. 's, E.M.T.'s, ' 'and other health professionals to take a free course entitled "Providing Red Cross Disaster Health Services." Classes will be held on April 14 and April 21 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Registration will be at the Red Cross office. This course will provide training to prepare volunteers to act as part of the Red Cross team in times of disaster. Non-working professionals can keep their licenses current by volunteering time to Red Cross. There is an on-going need for general office clerk-typist help, and the need increased during times of disaster. Manager of the Orem Office, Sam Whitehead, indicated there are 16 Service Ser-vice Division offices throughout the state. The Orem office employees 13 Systems Technicians and 3 Account Executives who serve the general business community. Among the dignitaries at the grand opening were James L. People interested in more details about the courses offered, and volunteering time to Red Cross programs, or any other need in the community, should call United-Way's United-Way's Voluntary Action Center, 37 8108: ' ' lU Center for Women and Children in Crisis needs week-end relief volunteers. This person would be responsible for answering the hotline and helping women in the shelter. Hours are flexible. United Way's Information & Referral Services needs volunteers to answer phones and give out information in-formation during the period of possible spring floods. Training will be given, and hours can be arranged for convenience of all. Sandbaggers are still needed to get the necessary supply of sand bags ready and on hand. Craft Program Begins For ' ,. Orem seniors are invited to join a new craft program for beginners and veterans every Tuesday morning beginning at 10 o'clock. Esther Bevins, coordinator of arts and crafts for the Senior Friendship Center in Orem, encourages those who always wanted to crochet to attend where they will get individual attention along with an exchange of ideas and patterns. The trip to Elko, scheduled for april 16 and 17, is filling fast and those wanting reservations should contact the senior center right away. The tour will include an overnight stay at the Commercial Hotel. Three days of dancing will be featured this week with the Hitch Hikers on Tuesday, Papa's Parlor Pickers, Wednesday and Orem Senior Harmonica Band, Thursday. Dancing begins at 10:30 a.m. Seniors from the area are invited to join their friends daily from 9:30 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. where they can enjoy pool, quilting, cards and other activities. ac-tivities. SUSC Lists Honor Roll A total of 234 students earned honor roll status winter quarter at Southern Utah State College. Thirty-two Thirty-two of the 234 students earned high honor roll status or straight "A" academic averages.
