They began on Tuesday, when the dances were held. They are called awards dances because they are for the students that have showed good conduct at previous mat dances. Each grade had their own dance. Drawings were held and prizes were given to the winners if they were dancing. Also, candy was thrown to the rest of the kids and they had a lot of fun. On Wednesday, the 9th grade awards assembly was held. Alj of the students who qualified for awards in areas such as academic aca-demic honor students, students with 100 percent attendance, and the most progress in a subject, received them. Thursday and Friday, the award films will be shown to all those who haven't received a suggestion ticket this semester. The film was 'The Island at the -Top of the World. It was a good show and the students that saw it enjoyed it. The awards banquet for the citizens of the week will be held on the 18th. On Tuesday, the English Department De-partment showed the film 'To Kill a Mockingbird. It correlates corre-lates with the novel that the 8th and 9th graders are studying. On Wednesday the Art Department De-partment held an art show. The students displayed projects they had made throughout the year. After that refreshments were served. It was a real fun night and the thanks goes to Ms. Harding and her students. Tonight from 6:30 - 7:30, the Orchestra will perform ina concert. con-cert. Then from 8:00 - 9:00 the chorus will be singing. The public is invited to attend. We think that we have a real good music program at our school, and we would like to share it.
