An election committee was formed in February to study and change the former election procedures pro-cedures at the school. The committee was under the direction direc-tion of Tim Daily, studentbody vice president. The new plan follows closely with the pattern set at National Conventions. "The only big differences were that no party platforms were made, eight offices had to be filled instead of two, and it only lasted one day instead of a week," Rue Lynn Galbraith, convention coordinator said. "This was a new experience for students here at Orem High andl feel it was a great success," he said. "It showed what the youth of the United States can do!" Delegates from each homeroom, home-room, with one delegate for every 15 students, met in the morning for general instruction. At 8:30 a.m. convention was opened by ceremonies conducted by Hal Wade Fairbanks studentbody president. Tim Daily, chairman of the convention, then proceeded to take votes for the first ballot. The second and third ballots continued con-tinued until 1 p.m. when the 175 delegate convention ended.
