The following officers were elected for the 1974-75 school year. Don Littleford Lit-tleford will serve as president; Gwen Smith will serve as vice-president, vice-president, then move into the president's position the next year; Helen Clark was elected elect-ed secretary, and Doris Bryan, treasurer. Principal Bennett Nielsen will continue as vice president. These officers were elected from a slate of nine candidates selected by the nominating committee com-mittee consisting of Joan Gourdin, Bonnie Law, and Sandra Davis. President Elaine Hale conducted con-ducted the meeting and Committee Com-mittee Chair man Gourdin presided during the elections The new officers will begin contacting Orem Junior High patrons to serve on the Board as soon as possible. During the past few years, the many fruit orchards which have previously been so abundant abun-dant in Orem have been slowly slow-ly diminishing with the increase of residential subdivisions. The Shade Tree Commission is making available information compiled by Dr. Ernest Reim-schiissel Reim-schiissel on types of trees which are desireable to plant in home areas in the Inter-mountain Inter-mountain Region. This informative in-formative material gives the qualities of each tree, its growth habits and care needed and may be picked up free of charge at the information desk 'in the City Hall. Home owners who have moved into new subdivisions where space for curb planting has not been allowed and who desire de-sire to have this unifying effect ef-fect may make an appointment to sit down with the Shade Tree Commission members and receive re-ceive help in planning unified tree plantings in their front yards. Suggestions will be given on types of trees and methods met-hods of purchasing. Trees add much to the beauty and comfort of home and city. If you desire help in this area call the City Hall and leave your name and telephone number num-ber with the receptionist and you will be contacted. Storytime Held At Library On Saturday The storyteller at the Orem City Library this Saturday will be Loreen Martinez. Storytime will be held from 11:15 a.m. until noon. There will be a special filmstrip shown and the following stories; 'The Egg Tree," 'Meet DoctorDolittle and 'Mickey Mouse in the Wild West." Children 4 years old and over are welcome to come. Orem-Geneva Times Fire Department Gives Figures For February The Orem City Fire Department Depart-ment reported that Orem had 16 fires for the month of February. Feb-ruary. There were also 8 non-fire non-fire incidents such as a rescue or emergency, malicious false alarms, and honest mistakes. The ambulance totals for February Feb-ruary were reported to be 39, eleven of which were accidental acciden-tal injuries. The estimated value of building's threatened was $77,875 while the estimated loss of buildings was $14,385. Other activities of the fire department include tours and classes for several groups of Orem citizens.
