Show Orem-Cenva Times April 11, 1974 f NEW OFFICERS HAVE been elected to the leadership of the Orem City PTA Council. Elected as President, Mrs. Dana Jensen, left. Other officers from left to right are Officers Installed For Orem PTA Board Elections were held at the Orem City PTA Board of Managers meeting recently and the new officers of the Board were installed. This year the Board decided to try having two vice presidents elected. Dana Jensen was elected president with the two vice presidents being Lillian Berrett and Pauline Paul-ine Hills. Stan Leavitt, a member of the Alpine School District is the second vice president. Kay Anderson was elected secretary, secre-tary, and the treasurer will be Joan S mith for the coming year. The voting was unanimous. Installation of the officers was conducted by Gayle Judd, Regional Director who outlined some of the duties of the officers offi-cers of PTA. Monta Rae, now the past president, presented each new officer with a rose bud. The new president,Dana Jensen, Jen-sen, was raised in Idaho and attended Ricks College and Utah State University before marrying marry-ing Fary L. Jensen, aprofessor at BYU. Orem for 8 years and have 5 children. Mrs. Jensen has served as a PTA officer ati Cascade School for four terms, including one year as president. Lillian Berrett will serve as first vice president. With eight children in school, she and her husband Dr. Paul Berrett, also a professor at BYU, are well acquainted with PTA operations and the important role the PTA plays. Mrs. Berrett has served on the PTA Boards of Scera Park and Lincoln Jr. High Schools, and for two years she has been a member of the Orem City PTA Council. Mrs. La Mar S. (Pauline) Hills will serve as 3rd vice president. Mrs. Hills has four children and has been active in the PTA for many years having served at Scera Park and Cascade Cas-cade Schools in many different capacities, including president. She just recently served as secretary in the PTA at Lincoln Lin-coln Jr. High. She has also been vice president at Orem High School for two years. Joan Smith is married to Calvin Smith and has five children. She has served as a room mother for four years. Mrs. Kathleen Anderson, wno was elected secretary, has served in various capacities in the Cherry HillSchoolPTA.She feels one should be active in civic affairs. She has five children. When outdoors, wear sev eral layers of light, loose clothing rather than one heavy garment. Air circulates circu-lates between the layers and acts as warming insulator. Scout Jamboree To Be Held In Norway In July Bulletin 1 has just arrived concerning the 14th World Jamboree Jam-boree tobeheldatLillihammer, Norway (near Oslo), July 29 to August 7, 1975. The Utah National Parks Council allotment is for 13 places. Applications must be filled out and turned in by May 1, 1974 with a $100 deposit. Estimated costisaround$1200. Those eligible to attend are scouts or explorers (in troops) who are at least 14 years of age, but not over 18 prior to July 29, 1975. They must have advanced at least 1 progress award during the year, except in the case of an Eagle Scout. They must be currently registered regis-tered and active in a troop. Each converted motorhome is driven by two National Service Officers and can file claims or answer any question anyone may have. Van No. 4 will service our local veterans from Provo. The field service unit will be open from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. to serve you. To reach as many veterans as possible each van only stays one day in each location. Central Cen-tral Utah Chapter No. 9 urges every one to take advantage of this service while it is here. If you do not have any problems then just drop in for a visit and let the D.A.V. know that we are behind them. Van No. 4 will be in Provo, Utah April 18, 1974. The Van will be set up in Provo next to the city center and will welcome wel-come everyone.
