Show 1 New Home For Moose In Manti The north end of Manti Mountain Moun-tain will ba a new home for 12 moose when the Division of Wildlife Wild-life Resources transplants them this month. Agreements have been made with the U.S. Forest Service and private landowners to introduce moose into the area. Game biologists biol-ogists will tranquilize and immobilize im-mobilize the moose to facilitate their transfer to the Manti. Additionally, ten moose will be captured and radio transmitters trans-mitters attached so their movements move-ments in the Uinta Mountains can be monitored, as part of a study being conducted by a Division biologist. Biologists will make population trend and sex ratio counts of the moose herd in conjunction with the transplant and radio transmitter trans-mitter projects. V; : if ; ' I Utah Valley residents who enjoy wrestling at its best will be able to see plenty of it this weekend as Brigham Young University Uni-versity hosts two teams ranked among the top 10 in the nation - and Orem and Pleasant Grove High School teams square off in a preliminary to the Saturday before the important BYU-Okla-homa State clurh in the BYU fieldhouse. This should pi .ve to be one of the toughest matches of the year for Orem, and Coach Fred Rowland is hopeful that his wrestlers wres-tlers will meet the challenge. Pleasant Grove, of course, is now in Region 6 under the new alignment of high schools. It is in the same league with Uintah, Uin-tah, another wrestling power house. Tonight BYU hosts a strong Arizona State team at 7:30, then meets 10th ranked Arizona tomorrow to-morrow night at the same time. Both matches are in the Smith Fieldhouse and open to the public. BYU is currently ranked 12th in NCAA standings. Ycber Jo Hold Wrestling Hatch With U of U Weber State hosts the University Uni-versity of Utah in a dual wrestling wrest-ling meet Thursday at 7:30 p.m. in Wildcat Gym. Utah is the defending MIWA champion and recently finished second behind BYU in the Beehive, Bee-hive, Tournament. The Redskins were third in the WAC last year trailing champ Brigham Young by only four points. Weber is presently on a road trip to Colorado and Wyoming where they will tangle with Northern North-ern Colorado and Wyoming in dual meets. Stars Begin 1973 Play Orem High School's Golden Tigers play two of their toughest tough-est games of the season Friday and Tuesday, as they travel to Kearns tomorrow night to meet the defending state champs and host the Hillcrest Huskies at the Orem High gym next Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. Kearns High is located at 5525 South 4800 West,Kearns. Kearns, one of the top four teams in Region Four and in the state, lost to top-ranked Provo by 14 points after having their two big men foul out of the ball-game. ball-game. The Cougars led by 14 points at the end of the first quarter but only two at half-time. half-time. Only other scores compare Orem and Kearns . are those against Brighton, considered one of the top five in the region. Orem beat Brighton at home last week, 92-59, while Kearns beat Brighton at Brighton by 15. With a 10-15 point edge given a home team, this makes the Orem-Kearns Orem-Kearns game more close than ever. Coach Harry Anderson, however, how-ever, pointed out that Kearns has four really good outside shooters. The Cougars have three front line men at 6'5" and their two guards just under six feet tall. For the host west team, the Utah Stars list as outstanding candidates center Zelmo Beaty, forwards, Willie WiseandGerald Govan, guards James Jones and Glen Combs and wingman Ron Boone. Indiana's sensational George McGinnis, second to Erving in ABA scoring, is a cinch to make the west roster. Mel Daniels and Donnie Freeman of the Pacers Pa-cers have been named to the classic all five years it has been played while Roger Brown and Freddie Lewis have played in four all-star contests. Denver lists guards Ralph Simpson and Warren Jabali and forwards Julius Keye and Byron Beck as its most likely choices while center Bob Netolicky and forward Rich Jones are the Dallas Dal-las Chaps' top candidates. San Diego's Stew Johnson and Chuck Williams are the top contenders from the expansion Conquistadors. Conquista-dors. The foregoing lists many more players from each division than the 10 which will be selected to each roster. That means some deserving performers won't be included. Tickets for the Feb. 6 contest have been on sale since Dec. 15 and have been moving at a brisk pace, according to Utah Stars' officials. Plenty of good seats remain, however, in all price categories. Also on sale at the Salt Palace Pal-ace Box Office are tickets to the Bill Cosby Show to be staged in the Salt Palace Arena the night before the All-Star game, on Monday, Feb. 5. Stars' season ticket holders, who already have all-star game tickets as part of their season ticket package, have first priority pri-ority in purchasing the choice seats for the Cosby Show. Those ducats are being held only until Jan. 15, however. Season ticket holders can purchase Cosby tickets tick-ets at a dollar less than listed prices of $5, $4, $3, and $2.
