Chairmen Named For Heart Fund Campaign Heart and blood vessel diseases are responsible for 54 percent of the deaths in the United States, according to your Heart Association. l'Z$ " - r - x...?:- . - -UH :v' -- $11 : i Mrs. Wayne (Joan) Cate will head the 1972 Heart Fund Campaign Cam-paign in Orem City, it was announced an-nounced today by Niroshi Kuida, M. D president of the Utah Heart Association. The campaign cam-paign will be conducted here and throughout the country during February which has been declared de-clared American Heart Month by an Act of Congress. Mrs. Cate will be assisted in the local drive against heart and blood vessel diseases by the following chairmen: Orem Stake, Mrs. William L. (Lois) Park, Jr.; Orem North, Miss Wilma Louder; Orem West, Mrs. David (LaRue) Colyar; Orem South, Mrs. Darrel (Peggy) Ockler; Sharon Stake, Mrs. Milton(Helen) Sharp; West Sharon, Mrs. Darwin Zabriskie; publicity chairman, Mrs. Earl R. BYU Offers Home Course In Law Study A course for in-service law enforcement officers has been Instituted by Brigham Young University Uni-versity Home Study Department to provide more extensive training train-ing opportunities for those who do not have access to them because be-cause of working schedules or location. According to BYU Home Study Chairman Mack Palmer, the course will be directed by the BYU Technical Institute and the campus law enforcement program. pro-gram. He pointed out that while many universities, including BYU, offer resident law enforcement programs, their primary focus is upon the young students who hope to enter the field. The in-service officer, however, usually cannot afford to leave his job and family to participate in the classroom. Under tie home study program, each officer will be able to learn at his own pace, schedule his own study sessions, receive individual in-dividual attention from his instructor, and remain on the job while learning and progressing.
