Show Utah County 4-H Supports National Center Expansion Sufi Utah County 4-H members, leaders, supervisors and interested in-terested parents have been invited in-vited to participate in the enlargement en-largement of the National 4-H Center in Washington, D.C. The National 4-H Center is located in suburbun Washington, D.C. and is the only Youth Educational facility ol its kind serving the 4-H program throughout America and around the world. Nearly 2,000 Jr. Leaders and adults are trained at the Center each year. The National 4-H Center expansion program is supported by 4-H members inall 50 states and by business and industry. Utah County 4-H'ers have been asked to join in this over-all drive for funds to enlarge en-large this National Center. It is suggested that 50 cents per respond to this need of the National Na-tional 4-H Club Center. A Lehi mother and small son suffered injuries in a two-car collision Monday night at 800 N. State in Orem. Injured were Marilyn K. Larson, Lar-son, 438 E. State Road, Lehi, and her small son Gary. The pair were passengers in a car driven by Charlotte Smith, 846 N. State. Orem. Announced in the school paper this was open only to subscribers subscrib-ers of 'The Jaguar." However, in order to win, these students had to come nearest to the teachers' teach-ers' ages. Marilyn Baum from the seventh grade won with many other students coming close. Marilyn was then awarded a 'San-tana 'San-tana record album. In the English Department, 8th and 9th grade students are learning learn-ing how to analyse movies. Films seen will be everything from Hitchcock favorites to musicals. mu-sicals. Begun on October 12, this is planned to continue the rest of the school year. Leading teams of Orem Jr. High's football will begin playoffs play-offs during school on Thursday, Oct. 29th for the boys' seventh, eighth, and ninth grades. A "Kickpin" game playoff is slated for seventh grade girls also on October 29th. Kickpin is a game similar to kickball and baseball and will be played in the Girls' gym at 3:10 p.m. :f - v H Tha oth . . The Orem High group were met at the airport with a busload of 45 members of the Provo High , Base Tuesday. ROTC under the direction of Colonel Nix. Upon receiving instructions, the groups boarded the plane and completed an enjoyable flight going go-ing out over the Great Salt Lake, then back over Orem, through Provo Canyon and up to Ogden before returning to the Salt Lake Airport. The flight lasted approximately ap-proximately one and a half hours. While flying the boys were al lowed to observe flight functions in the cockpit. After landing the ROTC groups enjoyed hamburgers and drinks at a National Guard service hall at the airport. The AFROTC group also participated par-ticipated in an Aerospace Education Educa-tion Field Trip to Hill Air Force BRAND NEW TV SET STOLEN A brand new crated television set was stolen from Ray I.
