Show Biblical Play Challenges Vet Playwrite The playwright who goes to history chronoligical or Bibli cal for his characters must solve the problem of how to make his characters seem convincing to the audience. Dr. Clinton F. Larsen, author of the biblical drama, "Mary of Nazareth" to be presented at Brigham Young University April 12-22 at 8:15 p.m. in the Mar- getts Arena Theater, has faced this challenge. The audience, being familiar with the characters, forms a mental picture, and since no two persons see with the same eyes, the playwright must try to match his picture with those of the audience in a pleasing combination. com-bination. Dana Arnada and Jed Nolan, who portray the leading characters charact-ers of Mary and Joseph, are faced with the problem of creating creat-ing two famous biblical characters charac-ters and of doing it convincingly. To date, Dr. Larson has author ed 20 full length plays and hundreds hun-dreds of poems. He has received prizes, awards and grants for his creative writing. Crossword Puzzle ACROSS 1. If so, says Ralph H. Home, Utah County Extension agent, the following information may help you. Most insecticides on the market today have several names. First, they have a chemical name or chemical definition which des cribes in words, letters, numbers,, and phrases the exact chemical structure of the compound. About the time the chemical is ready for market, the manufacturer manufactur-er will give the insecticide one or more trade names. By the time an insecticide is ready for use, it may have more than one coined name and number. Therefore, the Entomolgical Society of America's Ameri-ca's Committee on Insecticide Terminology or the American Standards Association or the Interdepartmental In-terdepartmental Committee on Pest Control, will assign the chemical one common name which is mandatory In manuscripts of research work submitted for publication pub-lication in the Journal of Economic Econom-ic Entomology. That is a question on which there have been considerable consider-able differences of opinion expressed ex-pressed in the community since the Utah State Department of Highways asked the Orem City Council to approve an increase in the speed limit on State Street to 50 miles per hour from 900 South to 2000 South. For a number of years, now, the speed limit on State Street from 900 North to 2000 North has been set at 50 miles per hour. And this is the section which has not been improved withcurbs and gutters or widening of the street. OVER THE YEARS the speed limit on State Street has been edging up from the 10 miles per hour which prevailed when the first motor-driven vehicles chugged chug-ged across the bench. Back in 1940 there was little traffic crossing State Street, and the thoroughfare extended to only two lanes. Nevertheless, the Orem Town Board, in Sept. 16, 1940, rejected a proposal by the Utah State Safety Council that traffic speed on state highways, including U.S. 91 through Orem, be increased to 60 miles per hour. BY THE WAY, what ever be. came of those street lights for which funds were supposed to have been appropriated some time ago to be located at that dangerous 1300 South State Street intersection? intersec-tion?
