Dr. Sixth Graders At Sharon School Write Patriotic Articles Sixth Grade students of Mrs. Aarl Hunter at the Sharon Elementary School in Orem wrote themes on patriotism. Two of these themes follow: , "America Is a Treasure To Me" by Jaynan Allred I think America is a trea- beautiful and FREE., The communists could do anything to me, but I wouldn't go into any communist country, would rather be killed than go to that unfree country Russia is to me just a bunch of ants running around for shelter. If any communist cure to me because it's so come over and try and get Gladys Queen Of Hearts v, ' ,..;f :?:sii ? V v- -,' j fc'islVi-:,.! i; ' ; ' ; v .-A .. s.. . ! Two Day Service" (o)(o some of us they just got an other thing coming. Communism Com-munism is joist a bunch of words. They think if they can get rid of us they could take over the world. But there is only one thing stopping them. They're afraid that we might take over. All they are is scarly cats. If they didn't think we would beat them, they would send a missile over and bomb us. I think Kennedy is going to be a very good President to help us in these few years of progress. The communists think Kennedy is just a man to say big words. I think America is the best there will ever be, even if the communists come over in our, free country. I think the Americans are very good people. "Let's Be Free" by Danny Carter Let's say the Communists have overthrown our govern ment and conquered the Unit ed States, and have given everyone one of two choices, to remain in America subjected subject-ed to Communist rule, or, to go to an island remaining within the rights of democratic democra-tic government and start civilization civili-zation all over again. I, as one, would go to the island, where I could have something to say about the government, where I could choose the work I could do best, where I could be a human being, not a piece of machinery to do work for others. For I say, to have freedom is to be somebody, to be alive. To not have freedom is to be a nobody, who might as wejl be dead. Of course we know the communists com-munists will never rule is, as long as we believe in God and have enough appreciation for our country to fight, and yes, even die for it if necessary. That is the only way we can remain an independent coun try. Elwood Baxter is principal at the Sharon School. All dur ing the month of February pa triotism is being s ressed in the elementary schools in Orem so that the students will not only feel appreciation for their country but be able to express this appreciation. flllli! ambus views I from Qiem flu QH j EGGS SEASONING MIRACLE WHIP '''iV'" E9t Miracle Whip L. i ...ALL YOU NEED FOR GREAT DEVILED EGGS TRYOUTS FOR SCHOOL PLAY HELD Tryouts for Orem High School's 1961 school play "Our Town", were held Tuesday, it was announced by faculty director dir-ector Robert S.
