That is the advice of the state's newly chosen dairy royalty : Property Taxes In Utah County For 1 959 Increased 1 3.5 Study Shows Property taxes in Utah County increased $936,223 or 13.5 during 1959, according to a study just released byi Utah Foundation, the private, nonprofit, tax research group. In 1959 the total property tax bill was $7,865,199 compared with $6,928,976 In 1958. The Foundations study also hows that $4,293,782, or 54.6 of all property taxes imposed in Utah County during 1959 was charged to owners of com-merical com-merical and industrial property; proper-ty; $2,430,214 (or 30.9) to residents property; $567,233 (or 7.2) to agricultral property; prop-erty; $550,825 (or1 7.1) to motor vehicles; and $13,145 (or .2) to other miscellaneous miscellane-ous classes. ,. ' ' " According to the Utah Foundation report, more than half of the total property tax bill paid throughout the State in 1959 was borne by owners of commerical and industrial property. Taxes charged against commercial and industrial indus-trial property amounted to $46,595,113, or 56.4 of the property tax total. Residential property owners paid $25,037,-205 $25,037,-205 (30.1 of the total). Foundation analysts observe that most of the property tax increase that occurred during 1959 came in the taxes levied for school purposes. Property taxes v for schools increased 23 throughout the State in 1959. School taxes totaled $45.2 million in 1958, compared with $55.5 million in 1959. Smaller statewide increases, were noted not-ed for municipalities and spe cial districts, with a slight decline de-cline occuring in the taxes imposed im-posed by counties. Veteran's Funds To Be Resolved Next Tuesday A joint meeting between the Orem City Council, new-iy-elected city officials, and member of the Orem Veterans Veter-ans Council will be held at 7:30 p. m. next Tuesday in the Orem city council chambers. The groups1 wll attempt to come to, a mutual understanding understand-ing as to the - operation and control' of veterans memorial facilities and expenditure of an accumulated $7,517 in Utah County Veterans Memorial funds. The meeting was scheduled at the", request of the .Veterans Council which has - been unable un-able to obtain county veteran's veter-an's funds during the past several sev-eral months pending approval of the Orem City Council.
