Show THURSDAY, MAT 14, 193T Legion Auxiliary Installs New Officers Initiation of new members and installation of Incoming officers of the American Legion Auxiliary was held recently at the Veter ans' Memorial home. The initiation initia-tion of new members, Vivian Jenkens and Leola Jensen pre-, pre-, ceeded the Installation of officers. offi-cers. New officers who were installed instal-led were: Elsie Schenck, president; presi-dent; Pearl Martindale, first vice president; Reba Loveless, second vice president; Betty Teague, secretary: Gwen Beach, treasur er; Florence Jacobsea, historian; histor-ian; Vivian Jenkins, sergeant of arms; Leola Jensen, assistant sergeant; and Gena Gourdln, chaplain. Irene Baker, outgoing president, presi-dent, presented gifts to all of her officers and chairmen. She also presented corsages to the new president and secretary and to Pearl Martindale, Installing officer. Mayor Loveless, and Ralph Schenck, newly elected district commander, were the guest speakers. r -a. . .. . The new president, Elsie Schenck was in charge. The colors were advanced bj sergeant of arms, Vivian Jenkins and her assistant, Leola Jensen. Prayer was by chaplain Gena Gourdln. Music chairman Leta Evans had charge of the program. pro-gram. She Introduced Orem's 3 Girl Staters, Bonnie Jameson, Babara Stewart, sponsored by the auxiliary and LaWana Patten, Pat-ten, sponsored by the BPW club. RaNae Loveless and Leta Evans played piano solos, and Tommy Moon played a clarinet solo, accompanied ac-companied by Jamiee Norton. - Irene Baker, past president, selected delegates to the department depart-ment convention to be held at St. Gorge June 4, 5, and 6. Delegates named were Elsie Schenck, Irene Baker, Pearl Martindale, Betty Teague, Barbara Bar-bara Broadhead, Gena Gourdine and Lily McQuivey. Lily McQuivey, Gena Gourdine, Gour-dine, Barbara Broadhead and Irene Baker will be hostesses at the Veterans hospital June 18. They will also contribute potted plants to the new hospital - at Fort Douglas. Chairmen selected to serve on the monthly projects for the coming year were: music, Leta Evans; membership, Pearl Mar tindale; child welfare and rehabilitation, reha-bilitation, Lily McQuivey and co-chairman Barbara Broadhead; legislative, Gayle Ward and Reba Loveless; Americanism, Gena Gourdine; community service, ser-vice, Vivian Jenkens; pan American, Am-erican, Loretta Tolton; poppy , and past president parley, Irene j Baker; girls state, Elsie Schenck, Schen-ck, Pearl Martindale, Reba Love less; entertainment. Betty Gill-man; Gill-man; parlimentarian Leta Evans; Ev-ans; junior activity, Babara Broadhead and Leta Evans; and publicity and scrapbook, Irene Baker.
