UTAH PHONE 0654 Rl Orem Women's Club Honors Mothers At Meeting Orem Women's club members honored their mothers as special spec-ial guests at an open session held Wednesday at the Scera Jounge, with all club officers acting as hostesses. "Dancing, an International Pastime" was presented as the program by the dance students of Mrs. Nina Booth. Music was bv Mrs. James Norton. A dance l revue was also presented by jprovo high school students of Miss Dorothy Richmond, with i music by Maxine Grimmett Girl Scouts, under the direct-! direct-! ion of Mrs. Paul D. Vincent ' presented the colors. The group i of girls included Fern Knight, i Annette Dunn, Sharon Lupus and Jerean Baccus- j Jerry Hansen and Evelyn Higbee sang "Wonderful Moth-; Moth-; er of Mine." They were accompanied accom-panied by Maxine Varley. A tribute to mothers was presented i by Mrs- Karl Terry. Refreshments were served from tables decorated with lilacs and tapers. Mrs. Leo Poulson-entertainment Poulson-entertainment chairman, was in : charge. During the refreshment period string music was pres-, pres-, ented by Leanne Loveless, JoL 'ene Farley and Helen Maycock. Hung in the Scera Lounge for the occasion were painting by Lincoln high school students. Club members have voted to award a trophy and other prizes for the best pictures of the year by Lincoln art students. Present at the meeting was Mrs- George Worthen, president of the Timpanogos First Ditsrict. She invited the group to attend the district convention which is to be held on Saturday at Pleasant Pleas-ant Grove- FOUT Girls Become Golden Gleaners Four Gleaner girls of Geneva ward, NaDene Adams, Betty Foster, Ina Skinner and Lucille M. Steele, received the Golden Gleaner pins and certificates at the Sheaf Binding ceremony on Sunday evening. Inez Boulter, Orem stake Gleaner leader, made the presentation. Norma Hales, Phyllis Han cock and Lena Clegg of the stake YW1IIA presidency were present Gilbert Childs and Charles Hanks played preliminary prelimin-ary music and background music mu-sic during the sheaf binding. A quartet comprising Tom and Bud Patten, Russell Adams and Clarence Moon sang one number, num-ber, accompanied by Lyle De-Lange. De-Lange. Montel Graff gave a trL bute to the Gleaners and Lyla DeLange read the Gleaner sheaf. Darlene Thalman played a cello solo, acompanied by Leo Ann Clegg. Talks on the Four Folds of the Sheaf were given by the Golden Glenaers- The Sheaf wa pres. ented by Lovena Rowley, class president, to Lillian Thurber, Gleaner leader, and was gives to Ivy Bee km an of the MIA presidency, who presented it to Bishop Wilford Larsen. Vocal solos were sung by NaDene Adams Ad-ams and Kathryn Christenson, accompanied by Opal RigDy. ! Prayers were offered by Kay Baker and Bud Adams- NaDene Adams is next ear's Gleaner president, with Jean Maycock, vice president and Lyla DeLange, secretary. Proceeds from the sale of the rags collected will go to the building fund for the State DUP Memorial building in Salt Lake City. Rags will be collected at the home of Mrs. Grace Hansen.
