Pedestrian WALK SAFELY m XT Every violation of the center line of safety is a potential prelude to accident Crossing into the danger zone can occur at the approach to the top of a hill on a curve going into an underpass, or even on the straight highway. That's reckless, dangerous driving! Accident records show that about one half of all fatal traffic accidents result from bad driving habits such as these. It's your responsibility to yourself, your family and to others who share the road to avoid these "Pass-Pockets" where lurk injury and death. Don't let impatient driving tag your conscience with being one of those who contributed to the maiming or death of the hundreds of thousands who will be auto accident victims this year. You can be a safe driver if you will. It's up to you. Hair Dul you ever slop to think, wo are diiltini; from the original origin-al purpose of Mol tier's Day'.' It's a day to pay tributes, to pay homage to the finest character-llie character-llie greatest, influence in our lives. We have gone astray, we commercialize Mother's Day. We stretch our budget the limit 10 buy something we think mother would like, or need, we call it a day- There are mothers that rate no better. But for me Mother's Day has a significance signifi-cance quite beyond the spending spend-ing of money. I'm going to pay homage to an ideal: a tribute to what all mothers should be MOTHERS BORN! The type of a woman with a sterling character. charac-ter. As I view some of the mothers today, I can thank God for a mother who believes in keeping the commandments to a capitol C. One that taught honesty hon-esty and tolerance. For a mother that possesses that fine quality the late President Roosevelt Roos-evelt so abundanty possessed: love and human sympathy for all of Cod's children, regardless of race or creed. A mothers influence in-fluence extends through all time "ETERNITY." Give The Devil A Holiday On May 1 1, 1947 - Mother's Day. it. would be a very fine I'e.stiire to close beer joints. All Sundays here after for that mailer It. would be a feather in he Mormons bonnet to do away with beer joints all together-Only together-Only persons of weak thought will disagree with me. For the people who aren't interested in "JOINTS", it's important to remember re-member "WE ARE OUR BROTHERS BRO-THERS KEEPER, ETC." There has never been any good come out of such places, there never will be. We might decree a Mother's Day special and close all the beer joints, and give THE DEVIL A HOLIDAY. It's A Priveledge It's the greatest priviledge to a woman to be a grandmother. Mother's Day I'll pay tribute to my daughters who have given me fine grandchildren to gladden glad-den my old age. For grandmothers grandmoth-ers here are the verses from my scrao book or yours: MATERNITY The love I bear My own child Is wild and deep and free Like the high wind blowing -Through every towering tree; "; Up the mountain peaks of triumph, Down Valleys of despair, In cstacy and anguish -Each joy and grief I share. The love I bear my child's child Is like none of these, It is the soft breeze blowing Through brightly blooming trees; Or rain drops lightly falling On (lower bedecked plain; It's love and joy ana laughter And spring time come again.
