Upon their arrival Saturday evening a bonfire supper and group singing was enjoyed. Na-dine Na-dine and Wilma Hales sang 2 numbers and Mrs. Lorna Mfly-cock, Mfly-cock, in pioneer costume related re-lated pioneer stories. The girls then retired to the jbuilding, where Marilyn Christensen gave the musical reading, "Arsenio and Old Lace" and Mignon Reese of Vineyard played an original composition on the piano. Tido, with his brother Joe, Is on probation in the Fourth Dis trict Court following their arrest ar-rest on charges of resisting an officer. The two brothers be came involved in a fight with two officers who attempted to place them udder arrest-Judge arrest-Judge Joseph E. PROVES SUCCESSFUL The new weed killer known as 2, 4-D is giving encouraging results in Utah county on wild morning glory and white top, according to an announcement made today by S- R. Boswell, Utah County Agent. Under the auspices of the county weed committee a tour of inspection took place Friday-Members Friday-Members of the County com missioners, the A.A.A. committee commit-tee and other agricultural department de-partment officials took part The tmir in the north Dart of the County was directed by H. A. Anderson, weed supervisor for Lehi. The south end was directed direct-ed hv Reed Bird. Mr. George Hobson, State Weed Supervisor was present and brought the news that the other counties of the state are getting th same good results as in Utah county. Visits were made on the farm -Tne M. CnlWp I.phi. where white top which had been treat ed in April was Inspected. Morning Morn-ing glory on the farm of Grant Christnnherson. and Sarataso Farms were also looked over. At American Fork, two areas belonging to Marion Green were visited and the kill noted. In Pleasant Grove the work done on the Wm. M. Hone farm was also looked over. The morning glory treated field of Jack Aver- ett, Springville and James Finch, Spanish Fork were checiced and also the white top control experiment ex-periment on the R. H. Andcus farm at Spanish Fork. The weed plants were treated in the early blossom stage and after 30 day period it was found the kill was near 99 percent. This new chemical is not expensive expen-sive and can come within the reach of everyone having a noxious noxi-ous weed problem. The Utah county weed contro' is encouraging the use of the new chemical by making a power pow-er soraver available to coonera tors- The machine is managed by the county weed supervisors.
