A WORD BOUQUET Instead of flowers for Mother's Day I should like to send a word bouquet-Something bouquet-Something to express my deepest thoughts to you If I have the power so to do. You are not fond of flowers too showy or gaudy like, Nor the heavy laden perfume type But something more rAfrochina anI owaa Like old friends you're always Mother, that's the kind of a bouquet I wish to send; One fragrant with love, hope, peace and happiness to blend-Flowers blend-Flowers of appreciation for all you've done. And gladness for the joy and I would like to express in these flowers to you How well I understand some things I never knew, Before I became a mother, and a grandmother, too, For experience is the only way to know what others go through. And as the years roll on and we older grow. Bent a little, not so alert, and a little more slow, With our places taken by younger ones Our children and their daughters I know, too, how it is to sit and just look on, And not be numbered with the great busy throng. Of course there's work for everyone to do each day And joy to be found so long as I just want you to know I understand much of your age And wish my bouquet to carry these thoughts to you 3 J At... ntlmln rrna tfawAl.iylt Jn Wis uay ana every uajr wc niww wvub". But I'm not an artist to paint a picture real, Nor can I write all my heart doth feel; So I'll lust bind them together in a love knot true, And send them as they are, with MOTHER If now your thoughts are scanning through the years Of Junior's babyhood when he was ill And all night long how earnestly you prayed And waited for the answer to His will. 4 And when his school day troubles came along - You took the time to speak of honesty And truth and carefully explained to him The simple laws of life that keep us free. How when his dangling arms and awkward gait f Put love and understanding in your heart. You listened to the tale of his young dreams And tenderly reproved or took his part When it seemed best. You made his home so dear" To him he can't forget. His lovely bride j At length wfll take her place and yours and walk f Henceforth into the future by his side. If you have done all this rest now from care The clay from which you moulded your own son, Has left your hands, the world will bake itnow. Yes, Mother dear, your sculpturing is done. By Grace M. This new policy has been adopted to aid in overcoming famine in the world and seems to be designed to discourage livestock and poultry feeding so that larger supplies of cereals cer-eals can be diverted to human consumption. And is designed design-ed to reduce livestock and poultry numbers in lint with the feed supplies available. As feeders it is important that we prevent this liquidation liquida-tion from going too far. With harvest but two months away we should make every effort to retain our best producing, and especially the young, animals ani-mals and poultry. Recent drastic feed prlc increases in-creases are caused by government govern-ment policy and not by the Feed Industry.
