Jacobsen, son of .vlrs- Mamie Jacobsen, Rt. 1, Box 322, Provo, has been honorably released from army service at the Fort Douglas separation enter. Cpl. Jacobsen served in France and Germany and engaged en-gaged in four campaigns. Cpl. Claud Oliver, son of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Oliver, has also been released from Fort Douglas- He served in New Guinea and the Philippines for eleven months and earned the Philippines Philip-pines liberation ribbon. Pfc. Edward F. McKean, husband hus-band of the former Bertha Of-fret Of-fret of Wildwood, has been released. re-leased. He served on New Guinea, the Philippines and Japan with the 32nd (Red Ar row) division. He was overseas 20 months. Pfc. Jack Meldrum has re turned to his base after spend ing the holidays with his par ents, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Mel drum of Edgemont. Dee Johnson of the Merchant marines, son of Mr. and Mrs. Oliver D. Johnson, is home for a thirty day leave. Another son, Vivian O- is also home until January 7, from Bushnell Hos pital, where he is receiving treat ment. HOME AGAIN" T-5 Clarence B. Bliss, son of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Bliss ha3 received his honorable discharge from Fort Douglas Separation Center. He has served 23 months with the 302 SighalCo. in Italy and Germany and has earned the right to wear the ETO ribbon with four battle stars and the meritorioifc unit citation. He entered the service in Feb. 1943. T-4 Edward F. McGuire, Jr., is also home again with his wife, Louise List McGuire and baby, who has been making her home with her father, Mr. and frs. Edgar J. List of Olmsted, while her husband has been away. Mr McGuire has been awarded the purple heart and three battle stars for his ETO ribbon. T. James (Jim) Weaver, Y 3-C arrived in Los Angeles Christmas Christ-mas day from the Philippines and telephoned his parents, Mr. and Mrs. T- J. Weaver. He will be unable to come home during his short shore leave. Darrell Graff of the merchant marines, son of Mr. and Mrs. Chester Graff, arrived New Year's eve for a thirty day leave from duty in the Pacific. Another An-other son of the Graffs, Wesley, is on furlough from O'Riley hospital, hos-pital, at Springfield, Mo. Wesley arrived home on Christmas eve. FIRST LEAGUE BASKETBALL GAME FRIDAY Lincoln high Tigers will meet the Pee Gee Vikings at Lincoln Friday evening in the 1st league game of the season, and it promises prom-ises to be a hum dinger. Coach Lee Brooks have had a real winning streak in the pre season games, with four in a row. On Saturday they turned back the Juab Wasps at Nephi 28-22. Although the Tigers have not run up high scores, they have completed one of the better de fensive records in pre-season play. Lake View Resident Observes 92 Birthday Christen Jensen celebrated his 92nd birthday Wednesday, sur rounded by members of his family fam-ily and a few close friends. Mr. Jensen was born m Aarhus, Denmark and became a convert to the LDS church when a young man, coming to we United States in 1880. In 1884 he married Anna Margarete Jensen in the old Salt Lake En dowment house. She passed; away 28 years ago. The couple had 11 children .seven of which are still living. They include, Mrs. Leon Gillette. Burley. Ida- rho: Mrs. William D. Norman, Mrs. L. J. Beebe, James C. Jen sen, Alvin J. Jensen and Mrs. Calvin de St. Jeor, all of Provo; and Mrs. Benjamin Young, of Woods Cross. There are also 28 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Mr. Jensen is living at present pres-ent with his son, James C. Jensen Jen-sen at Lake View, and is surprisingly sur-prisingly hale and hearty. He exercises regularly each day by chopping wood and taking long walks. He rarely misses a Sunday Sun-day in his faithful church attendance. at-tendance. He is a high priest in the Pioneer ward of Provo. Walter Cox of Lake View, William Parks of Orem and Andrew Iverson and Christen Jensen are believed to be Utah County's four oldest citizens.'
