Americans dominate Cup event Oly Park also hosts combined, freestyle aerial competitions By ERIC WALDEN Of the Record staff The America's Cup sliding sport circuit doesn't feature big-name big-name performers like Jim Shea and Tristan Gale, Jill Bakken and Vonetta Flowers. What it does have, though, are athletes who aspire to one day achieve what those other already have. The developmental league for bobsledders and skeletoners made . its way to the Utah Olympic Park last week, and the America's Cup competition proved to be aptly named, with U.S. athletes winning the bulk of the podium spots. Park City's own Steve Holcomb proved he's getting ever-closer to reaching the senior circuit sooner rather than later. He came to UOP having won two straight races in the men's two-Please two-Please see UOP, B-5 NILS J ,j?Z!aSiwkfwxFur 1 3 'nfkig for X( It n 9 dajws ar wound town, H!LS has ttt fasfiiorts that flt ami fsoctkmr . .. jj V ?i f -..
