OlV MOC Park City, in its ongoing attempt to showcase its role during the Winter Olympics, has placed three six-feet-tall Games icons in the middle of the Old Town roundabout The icons, which are lighted light-ed at night, are replicas of those used by the Salt Lake Organizing Committee during the Games. The three represent repre-sent aerials skiing, moguls skiing ski-ing and Alpine skiing, which were competitions held in Park City during the Games. The icons join several sets of lighted Olympic rings that are on display in Old Town. Police are investigating an incident in Park Meadows in which a man reportedly tried to pick up a boy who was walking to his house. Police say that the man, who was described as a Latino, asked the boy if he wanted want-ed a ride home. The man was driving a blue car, police said. The incident was reported at 8:53 a.m. On Friday, Nov. 29 at 9:49 p.m., police were called to a restaurant on the 1900 block of Park Avenue, where customers were refusing to pay their bill. An officer intervened and the bill was paid. The people left the restaurant afterward. At 9:18 p.m., police stopped a motorist on S.R. 224 and then arrested him on a series of charges. Police said he was speeding and he had marijuana and drug paraphernalia. An officer informed them of the closure. At 10:26 a.m., a safe-deposit box was reported stolen from a home on the 1200 block of Moray Court. Public police logs offered little additional information. On Thursday, Nov. 28 at 7:12 p.m., police arrested a man on S.R. 248 for driving with a suspended sus-pended license. Police were called to the 1100 block of Deer Valley Drive at 8:03 p.m., where a person was reportedly drunk and combative. Police arrested the man for intoxication, intox-ication, criminal trespass and disorderly dis-orderly conduct. At 4:19 a.m., police received a report that a man had tried to break into a change machine on the 2100 block of Park Avenue. Police said the man, described as 5 feet 5 inches tall and wjth a goatee, pushed past a security guard and ran when he was approached. Officers were , unable to locate the suspect, who was wearing a red jacket, police said. On Wednesday, Nov. 27 at 1:53 a.m., police received a report that several people were sleeping inside the Old Town transit center, cen-ter, which is on Swede Alley. On Tuesday, Nov. 26 at 9:14 p.m., a trash bin was reported on fire on the 100 block of Daly Avenue. Firefighters put it out. At 8:21 a.m., police took a man into custody who had a warrant war-rant out for his arrest in West Jordan. The arrest occurred after he was stopped for speeding on Marsac Avenue. A person drove a car onto the Park City Golf Course and then abandoned the car. The incident was reported to police at 8:23 a.m. The owner of the car said his brother was driving the vehicle and fell asleep. A tow truck was called to retrieve the vehicle. On Monday, Nov. 25 at 7:11 a.m., police received a report of a hit-and-run traffic accident on the 1000 block of Park Avenue. A fence was damaged, police said.
