They came home with 10 top-five top-five finishes, including four lst's, and 16 top-20's. It's fair to say race organizers in Wyoming didn't know what they were getting get-ting into when they invited the kids from Park City. However, the Park City team did leave the 4th place slots in J-2's open for some of the other 240 kids racing for spots in the Junior Olympics. Fifteen-year-old Zach Simons of Park City continued his winning streak by winning win-ning the five-kilometer skate and classical J-2 races. Simons is undefeated in Junior Olympic qualifying races, placing first in both skate and classical at the Utah Winter Games races at the White Pine Touring Center two weeks ago. Whitney Thompson, who also dominated dominat-ed the J-2 division of the Utah Winter Games, placing 1st and 2nd, won both the skate and classical races in Pinedale. Thompson. 14, who is also from Park City, beat 37 other J-2 girls in her races, significantly signifi-cantly helping her chances of making the Junior Olympics. Fifteen-year-old Chris Wagner, a recent Park City transplant, placed 2nd in the J-2 skate and classical races. Daniel Chudleigh. 14, captured 3rd place in both races in Pinedale. Thirteen-year-old Megan Beck, racing out of her age group, placed 5th in both skate and classical. Despite being up against skiers one and two years older than she. Beck has a good chance of making the Junior Olympics if she continues beating older skiers. Jay McEntire, 14. could not be kept out of the top-20. The men from Wolf Mountain had a strong day of racing on the Sea Lion run. Y-6 racer Ryan Simons from the Wolf Mountain ski team won his age category and placed 18th overall with 129.93 points. Park City Ski Team member ousted Wolf Mountain racer Andrew Mitchell for the 1st place finish in the Y-5 age group. Wolf Mountain's Kevin Brower took 1st place in the Y-4's, as well as the overall title. On the women's side, Australian skiers dominated the overall title, capturing 1st, A 6 Months Same As Cash!
